Congratulations to Sue and Terry Oakley on the win today at the Salford Club beating Colleen and I in a good final having beaten Trish Wadsworth and Curt Driver in the semi-finals while Colleen & I defeated Lana Stoner and Matt Knight in the other semi. It was the 25th year that this competition has been won and it was very fitting that Terry and Sue should win their first title having been the original sponsors and providers of the trophy. 24 pairs entered on the day and were split into 4 groups of 6 with the top 2 in each group progressing to the main quarter-finals and the next 2 going into the Plate Quarter-Finals. Linda Tidy and Tony Cross won the Plate Competition beating Genette and Pete Nicholls in the final. AI would like to offer our thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and running of this very enjoyable day, especially Caroline Jones on the Admin Desk and the master of ceremonies, Gary Powell. Colin Robbins provided his usual excellent food for us all and the Salfords Club gave us great hospitality as always.

I meant to comment on this post before.....been told off , an excellent performance by Lana with her second highest break of 2950 to help defeat the very strong pair of Denise and Laurie in the quarter final
