Bravos 3 Plough 2
Another dent in the championship challenge for Plough with an away defeat at The Weald. Chase Newman started the visitors’ match well with a win over Spud Spurrier but a purposeful 8K from Bravo proved to be too good for Dave Knight and the score was levelled. Plough skipper, Darren Newnham, has a tight third frame against Paul M-R but prevailed over the home player to put his side back into the lead but Lynne M-R came out on top of her game against Jan Bithell to force a deciding leg. In this final encounter, Ron Sherridan beat Geoff Fairs to keep the points at home.

Hassocks B 3 Horns Lodge 2
The Bees are slowly getting the hang of this bar billiards lark with their third win of the season, matching last season’s performance with 6 matches to go. The first was a close affair with Chris Lambe taking it from David Croft and an even closer result came from frame two when Bob Lansdall grabbed it from Dave Tiffin. Sam Hall came to his team’s rescue, taking the third from Dom Ashby but it was match over as Barry West put in a good performance against Kevin Stevens. The fifth frame went to the visiting team as Peter Shaw defeated a black pegging Adam Ruffle.

Millers 1 Hassocks A 4
The Hassocks A side are bent on keeping their current place at the top of the premier and despite this loss, Millers keep their number two slot in division 1. Hassocks captain, Derek Taylor, took the opening leg from Gavin Offord and a best of the match 6K from Jock Jeffrey proved too much for James Seaton. Nigel Bransby fell in the third to Peter Edwards and the match point was won by the visitors. A dogged frame from Ade White saw him beat Jennie Edwards to get what was to be the home side’s only point, and despite some good stuff from Malc Fuller in the last leg, a 5K from Dilly was too big.
