well, week 2, made for some interesting viewing on a relevelled table, game 1, chris against joe, neither of us found our flow, i won 2960 to 1610, break of 820, gareth against colin went to gareth 2990 to 1270, gareth getting720 and 640 breaks, nige put mick in, and returned breaks of 900,990,600 and 500 to win 4270 to micks 1160, half time sarnies, very nice! joe played far better than me 2nd game, gave me a few chances but, won with 2440 to my 2150, gareth 2750 to colins 1740, gareth getting 570,560,630 and 530 against colins only break of 620, super sub time, tony smith in for mick reilly, and who would've expected it, tony beats nige 2580, to 1480, tony getting break of 820 with 3 balls, nige getting breaks of 660 and 500, 4-2 to the sisters to hopefully bring things closer!

Week 2 Result card Garden Bar 3 - 3 Hospital
Peter Payne 1000 v 2060 Stewart Chant** Fred Pope** 960 v 1550 Phil Osborne Colin Southouse (1480 & 680 brks) 4000 v 1970 Bob Osborne (630 & 570 brks) Peter Payne** (650 & 560 brks) 1880 v 1440 Stewart Chant Fred Pope (610 brk) 1860 v 2560 Phil Osborne** (560 ,610 & 630 brks) Colin Southouse (1140 & 820 brks) 3360 v 3110 Bob Osborne (860 & 620 brks)
Great match, plenty of fun and a draw the best result on the night, Bob had me on the run both games but i just managed to get ahead at the last minute to save a draw.
Plenty of calls for "stewart" he has become synonymous for a shot in the 100 or 200 with absolutely no idea how it happened!!! everyone managed it tonight
Someone nicked the replacement spots tonight DRAT! Table rolled a bit left, which made the break harder than anticipated following Chris's recent post. will try and sort out for next week, also there are 2 dull heavy balls in the pack so try not to use them, the timer was running a bit long tonight. but ok for our first visit to the Garden Bar, views were exceptional tonight, must be the warm weather, well worth the trip.
PS i'f in doubt the idea was to "wang it" a term borrowed from our Sudbury friends

well phil carried on with a great break of 3370, to take 4th leg 4280 to 1250, I understand Phil predominantly played 30 10 both ways for his high break, wish i had seen it, no risk shots, steady scoring for say 7 mins, wow

Discussion on rule changes.
Feel free to comment on the rule changes applied to Eastbourne this season, good or bad, at the end of the day I want to ensure long term changes will be for the better.
The interleague match will be played to last years Crawley rules unless there is a majority against it, I am I favour of playing to Crawley rules as it will focus on the differences, all I ask is that the scorers should give a warning on a red ball foul.
So to start off, looks very hard for a visiting team to get used to the break in the 1st game, therefore propose that ALL away breaks be enforced.

For the Interleague challenge, suggest a random draw and breaks 2,3,5,6 to visitors and 1,4,7 to home side as per Sussex traditions. Debating with self on whether to bring out the best set of 'shrooms - or the spindly ones that go over rather easily !

Looks like a key match at the Hollingbury tomorrow night, with the hospital looking to maximise their away legs wins and the hosts needing a good result to keep their title hopes alive.

Garden Bar 2 - 4 Seven Sisters
Colin Southouse (890,1060 & 560) 4120 v 1730 (890) Gareth Dell** Peter Payne (570 & 600) 1820 v 2170 Tony Smith** Fred Pope** 1280 v 1740 Mike Reilly Colin Southouse (520, 1900 & 1270) 4620 v 840 Chris Haynes** Peter Payne** 1630 v 1670 Tony Smith Fred pope 1110 v 1700 Mike Reilly**
Some close games that went to the visitors tonight.
The home team arrived late due to bowls matches, leaving the visitors to substantially deplete the alcohol stocks.
