If it's the right one, he's a former Sussex Champion-of-Champions:My first recollection of the competition was going along with a contingent from Crawley in 1977 (I had just moved there and joined their League) and their champions pulled off a surprise double: Ken Brown won the Mens and Jackie Lewry the Ladies.

Laughing Fish K 4 - 1 Glynde Club
Tony Jenner 900 v 5610 Dave White Ian Lelliott 10140 v 450 Colin Southouse David Ingram 7580 v 3800 Bob Osborne Terry Molloy 4870 v 4580 Phil Osborne Tony Jenner 16500 v 240 Sandy Harmer
Well done the K's with a lesson on how to play a tricky Fish top tonight, Dave White opened with a steady break while Tony had a few troubles Dave pulled further ahead, Lelli opened with a careful 5k giving me a little sniff but to no avail, when the break was eventually recovered it was smartly fluffed leaving Ian to cruise to a 10k, Bob opened well and gave Dave Ingram a target but Dave was up to the challenge with a nicely controlled 7k to the bar, Terry opened with 4k+ and Phil came back well and was on schedule for a great play out to nick the game but unfortunately came off at the bar leaving Terry to nick the win back. The red spot was moved to the correct position in game 5 Which Sandy had not seen (black spot for the visiting skipper here) Jim Millward was on top form as the scorecard demonstrates, Always great to play this class of opposition even if we were put to the sword somewhat more easily than anticipated.
And thanks for all the Balls tonight
regs cs
PS Yep Should have been Jim Millward in Game 5 sorry Jim

Apologies that people found the fish table difficult. Situation with the spot was explained to me when we returned but on the flipside i had happily knocked in 18k on there before we left to make sure the table was ok...

Apologies that people found the fish table difficult. Situation with the spot was explained to me when we returned but on the flipside i had happily knocked in 18k on there before we left to make sure the table was ok... Ah.... so now we know who had worn out the red ball spot then! The table wasn't "difficult", it just needed a bit more thought than usual on the break as the original red ball spot was slightly out of alignment to the right meaning it required a thin break with left hand side to get both balls in. During the 4th game of the night it started to "lift" which made it hard to spot the ball correctly so we changed the spot before the final game and positioned it correctly, Jim clearly found it pretty easy after that in the last game.
