With great pleasure, here is the entry form for the 6th Northants Open! Attachment DeletedThere will also be a 4 pin event held on the Saturday (ran by the Northants bar billiards league), which i know a few people have already shown an interest in. This is a Northants competition, however we have decided to open this up to everyone, so people can stay over and enter the open the following day. There should also be a band for entertainment at night time. Details can be found at www.northantsbarbilliards.org/ within the next 24 hours.

Likewise, very interested in both: Four pin - how could I miss, after all I said on the resurrection thread ? Three-pin - haven't entered one(apart from off-the-spot) for 3-4 years, but used to enjoy the Northants in the 1990s so will do for old-times' sake.

The only 3½ pin player at the East Anglian Open would loved to have come up for that weekend, brilliant idea! Unfortunately that's when I start my fortnight marshalling at the Classic TT and Manx GP.
Good luck!

Hi Folks, Thank you to those who have already entered the Northants Open and 4-Pin competitions for 2016. We are very much looking forward to hosting you for what will hopefully be a great event. Entries remain a little bit lighter at this stage than we would have anticipated given the enthusiasm there was in previous years to get this competition resurrected. Please support it now that it is happening, to ensure that this remains viable. For those who are expecting to have entered - you may check that your entry has been received and processed on the Northants Website. Northants Open 2016You will find a link to the list of entries on this page which will be continually updated with new entries as they are received. If you are yet to enter - please do so before the deadline. Very best wishes, Lorin

Am surprised there are no entries from Suffolk .....also, only Eastbourne's "big two" entered - where are the others ? The event hasn't exactly been over-publicised, but even so, very surprised at the apparent lack of interest from both these quarters.

Am surprised there are no entries from Suffolk As already explained, there will be a few Suffolk players for the 4 pin on Saturday but the main open clashes with a Sunday football match when the tractor boys take on the budgies from norfolk

Not sure what you mean by 'Not being over publicised' as I've put it on here and brought entry forms to the last two opens and also talked to people while I've been there. Is that not the same as everyone else? To be honest did not want to extend the deadline because as its my first time to organise an open I wanted time to make sure we do it right. Will have to see though as entries are extremely down on expectation, especially with the interest showing me to bring our open back??

Well it usually happens that first year back is a bit low-key, I've found this myself when trying to resurrect an old local competition last fought for in 1999. Still, scope for development for next year.
You say 'same as everyone else' but that's the whole point, people attending one Open usually see forms on display for the next one on the calendar and show an interest then. Unfortunately your event follows closely on the heels of Bucks.
Certainly the response to the normal 3-Pin part seems disappointing, especially as Northants is a bridge between north (eg Yorks) and south and would be a good one to attract interest from the likes of the ailing Cambs league. Having the 4-Pin event I thought was a nice touch and in an ideal world Norwich and indeed Wellingborough should be beating a path to your door to take part. But I would imagine to gain their attention you'd have to make a special effort to get the message out there rather than rely on them to read the Forum.
I've tried to publicise your event down here b.t.w. by putting the following message up on our leagues' websites:

Unfortunately this was the only date on the calendar (except when possible snow is about) where we could have it with at least 1 week spare with nothing planned across the country.
With reference to the other leagues, Wellingbough, Cambridge, Yorkshire, Sheffield and Norwich 4 Pin I have made a special effort by contacting all of them by email, message or been on their Facebook Page but unfortunately only Dave has come back to me trying to rally up players.
Also we appreciate you advertising it down south for us.
Hoprefully next week we will be flooded with entries 😁😀

I have to back Northants up here and confirm I received a message from them several weeks ago with ALL the details and I turn sent out a text message to as many Suffolk players as I could and asked these people to spread the word. Initially the response was good and a Suffolk weekend piss up looked on the cards, then sods law, this years football fixtures were announced. The fa picking the Sunday for the Ipswich Norwich clash. I have tried to keep the Northants team updated and they will have the names of our players by early next week. While i do feel guilty that at the moment none of us are entering the three pin, it isn't our game hence the football comes first, but I do honestly feel sorry for them at the slow response they are getting, some of us know how much effort goes into getting an open off the ground and it can be sole destroying when entries are slow coming in. But knowing the Northants crew I'm sure it will be a great weekend and I hope the entries flood in over the next couple of days
