A closely fought match that was both highly competitive and also had plenty of laughs and friendly banter between the teams. Game 1 TJ opened with 1.7k, the balls stayed awkward for a while but Rob then got the break back and established a slight lead. Both had chances to make sure but Rob was on the table when the bar dropped to take the win. 0-1 Game 2 Lorraine was off fairly early and although James did get the break back he also went too thin on the break and was off quickly, the balls then found all sorts of interesting places to go to and neither player able to clear them until Lorraine got the break back just before the end to make sure. 0-2 Game 3 Rick off at just under 1k but no matter how much Derek tried he couldn't get the break back and Rick maintained his lead throughout the game. 1-2 Game 4 Excellent opening 5k plus break from Barry and he was first to get the break back and make sure of the win with another good break. 1-3 So, Hassocks 3-1 up and with a 7k+ aggregate lead after the singles..... Game 5 TJ opened with 1.5k, Rick first to get the break back and was going well on 2.5k before being unlucky to find the peg and give Lorraine the break back, luckily for us she didn't take advantage and with Rob having no luck the game was secured towards the end to keep us in the match. 2-3 Game 6 Barry off at just under 1k and I managed to get the break back straight away, had a few excursions around the table before touching on just over 8k when I got out of position, the balls then went awkward after that with Derek not getting the break back until after the bar had dropped. 3-3 Many thanks to my team, to have won this competition again and have enjoyed many really good evenings throughout the summer. My thanks to the County Oak for hosting the final and for providing a nice Chilli con Carne, also to Matthew Knight for organising and running the competition this year.

Plenty of fun tonight, the way we like it, left my mobile at the pub hope someone has picked it up
Phil Opened up a lead and kept it Darren black pegged but had just enough time to catch up and overtake thingy Chelle lost her fight with the black peg going for a last ball draw Colin gave Nigel something to think about but he was well upto the task Darren black pegged again near the end Sure Nige managed a black peg as well in the last but 3 breaks by P&C was enough to secure the win

Congratulations to Albion Fishersgate on winning the Main Competition and to Black Lion on winning the Plate Competition. Thought it was a very competitive event this summer with most matches pretty close. Thanks to all the pubs that took part and to all the players who participated, hope everyone enjoyed it.

And many thanks to Matt for taking over from me this year. I did struggle to keep on top of it last year and this summer has been even busier yet again!
