Northants Open result: Winner: Curt Driver R/up: Simon Coleman SF: Jon Bamsey, Kevin Tunstall QF: Keith Sheard, Paul Sainsbury, Nigel Senior, James Whittle Plate winner: Clive Thompson R/up: Phil Osborne
Special mention must be made of the performance of James Whittle, who recorded victories over Steven Sheard, Jason Neal, and Matthew Knight en route to the last 8, where his name sat alongside the greats of the game. Well done James.

Thank you to Northants for hosting another great weekend, as usual as excellent competition with high class bar billiards and many laughs. Venue is excellent, the host from the venue friendly, food great and tremendous value.
Thank you for all the hard work by those who organise, set up the tables, do the raffle.
Well done to Curt on his win, special mention to Clive in the plate as in the semi final he recorded his first ever 10k break, and to James on making his 2nd quarter final.
Some great games, and well done to Simon on making the final alongside doing the admin.

Another perfectly organised Open by Northants. I'm sure all who took part appreciate the amount of preparation and effort that is put in to make it run smoothly. The Grade II-Listed Cock proved once again to be ideal hosts, thanks to Rob and Liz.
There were many highlights, who would have thought that Jon Bamsey's break of 21k would then be beaten by Keith Sheard's 22k and Keith would then lose to K.T. by a mere 20 points ? James Whittle as already mentioned, and well done to Simon Coleman who beat K.T. to make the Final.
TJ - your comment is appreciated, unchartered territory for me ! Pete Soanes said afterwards "what went wrong ??!!!" Nice comments afterwards too from the younger fraternity who represent the future of our game.

What a great weekend! Firstly just want to say thank you to Rob, Liz and all at The Cock Hotel. They are so welcoming and a great venue to hold our open. Thanks to Michelle and Vicky for the raffle which was very successful and without it we couldn't run the day. Congratulations to Curt Driver on winning the 2017 Northants Open who beat Simon Coleman in the final, oh how we would have loved to have a Northants name on the trophy! (Sorry Curt haha) Also congratulations to Clive Thomson who won the plate beating Phil Osbourne, who also won the 4 pin the day before. Thank you to everyone who packed the tables away, Dave Alder for his hard work as always, also Nigel who helps with the spreadsheets, and then also everybody who sponsored the day! See you all next year!!

A big thanks to everyone involved in organising the Northants weekend, I cant really comment on Sunday as due to other commitments I couldnt stay to make the numbers up and to be honest Saturday is a bit of a blur from noon onwards The Saturday ran perfectly though and almost to time, sorry I delayed one of my games due to reasons beyond my control, but I think the old boy in the toilets appreciated my good deed. My only complaints can be the venue and the ammount of beer I am forced to drink. It was great to meet young Jack and I am just sorry i didnt give him a better game, he totally thrashed me and deserved to win. Looking forward to next year already

Will soon be viewable on the AEBBA website: the conversion to required format is a full day's work for someone, which I'm willing to take on, but the files have to be sent through to me first. Now available to see.
