Like the website, better when completed.
Shame the Opens all time stats aren't listed in % Won order, more reflective of players standards!

Like the website, better when completed. Shame the Opens all time stats aren't listed in % Won order, more reflective of players standards! Welcome to the forum, Les. No I don't like that idea as players well down the list would be at the top. There are 5 people that have got a 100% win average after playing 0NE tournament, how can that be ? Anyway I like being 2nd..... Keith

Hi Les, welcome to the forum. I will take your comment as a little tongue in cheek as re-sorting the list by % won certainly moves you up the list. Looking at these %ages it seems that anyone who hits over 70% is a pretty good player. There are 22 players who currently are at 70% plus having played more than 10 opens | Player | %won | ]10 |
---|
1 | Kevin Tunstall | 83.3% | 176 | 2 | Trevor Gallienne | 78.8% | 35 | 3 | Dennis Helleur | 78.8% | 24 | 4 | John Burrows | 78.4% | 36 | 5 | Les Green | 77.2% | 58 | 6 | Chas Jones | 76.6% | 11 | 7 | Terry Race | 76.6% | 28 | 8 | Phil Collins | 75.5% | 55 | 9 | Kevin Clark | 74.0% | 38 | 10 | Keith Sheard | 74.0% | 167 | 11 | Curt Driver | 74.0% | 93 | 12 | Nigel Ryall | 73.7% | 28 | 13 | Mark Sawyer | 73.6% | 31 | 14 | Jim Millward | 73.3% | 82 | 15 | James Jeanne | 72.9% | 15 | 16 | Steve Mariner | 72.6% | 65 | 17 | Paul Sainsbury | 71.9% | 156 | 18 | Nigel Senior | 71.3% | 132 | 19 | Tony Walsh | 70.6% | 85 | 20 | Dave Reeves | 70.6% | 15 | 21 | Graham Bisson | 70.5% | 34 | 22 | Bernie McCluskey | 70.1% | 62 |
Not included there are the 5 people who actually have a 100% win record after playing just one open and one match......it does seem weird but these 5 players did genuinely appear in one open, won a match and for whatever reason did not play and withdrew their second match and were never seen again! Walkover wins and losses are not included in the stats main reason being it would mess up the averages somewhat. Speaking of averages when Fazza used to do these lists he would always sort them by average score, doing this again changes the list and someone is well clear of the rest...and its not KT! (list is for players who have played 50+ matches) | Player | Ave | P]50 |

1 | John Burrows | 9,940 | 139 | 2 | Keith Sheard | 8,986 | 597 | 3 | Kevin Tunstall | 8,940 | 808 | 4 | Kevin Clark | 8,916 | 131 | 5 | Les Green | 8,687 | 224 | 6 | Mark Sawyer | 8,486 | 110 | 7 | Mick Lingham | 8,377 | 98 | 8 | Phil Collins | 8,141 | 204 | 9 | Paul Sainsbury | 8,067 | 530 | 10 | Curt Driver | 8,032 | 342 | 11 | Alan Donovan | 7,970 | 72 | 12 | Max Dick | 7,621 | 126 | 13 | Bernie McCluskey | 7,595 | 211 | 14 | Mark Brewster | 7,512 | 369 | 15 | Tony Walsh | 7,485 | 279 | 16 | Steve Biggs | 7,409 | 103 | 17 | Nigel Senior | 7,387 | 435 | 18 | Steve Mariner | 7,291 | 230 | 19 | Terry Race | 7,206 | 111 | 20 | Kent Murray | 7,137 | 73 | 21 | Simon Tinto | 7,034 | 87 |

Five winning scores of 2,420, 1,440, 1,360, 470 & 380. They were obviously to shocked to continue playing!
Down the list but I'll settle for that % after playing so many matches.

..and it should be remembered it's a historical document - NOT another ego-boosting competition!

There are 22 players who currently are at 70% plus having played more than 10 opens I could say that the thought of moving up the list hadn't occured to me, but I'd probably be lying. Did notice that I was the only one to have played more than one game in the Bucks open and still have a 100% record!! All makes interesting reading though, I'll have a better read through once 'back home'.
