Verns final ever report.
Hi All, John Slee 11,000 Chip 1700 Junkie 6110 Ricky 4530 Vernon 6780 Brian 2880 Jim 3150 Bill 2600 Mick 1530 Gentleman Dick 5790
Well, although I had hoped for a win I genuinely thought 2-2 and last game win for either side, I wasn't expecting a total batting collapse from the burners, to be honest they were unlucky, apart from gentleman Dick, none of them had the rub of the green. Even Jim managed to avoid a Black Peg!! A great night with the burner boys and they were as usual very sporting. Apart from having the occasional peek on here and no doubt stirring things up this will be my final report as I'm hanging the old cue up for good. Thank God I hear you all say as you can now enjoy a quiet evening without Gobby Vern. Good luck to you all for the coming seasons

Hi Vern, Your excellent 'last' report will be incorporated into the special report on Finals Night on the bespoke BHBBL website.
Re hanging up the old cue for good, I'm sure this is said with the utmost sincerity - but speaking as one who planned similar a couple of years ago I'm sure you'll be back - when you realise (as I did) that, quite simply, life's too short.

Dick the Dude has sent me a whole stack of photos taken last night. I can't use every single one for the sake of integrity of the website, but here are some good ones that didn't make it: 1. Chelsea, Shaggy, Junkie........... 2. Junkie, Gibbsey............... 3. Tidy, Chippy, Ricky.

..........and three more: The retiring double-winning captain The young Dude with his tremendous haul (Div 1 Best Performance, Highest Break and Highest Score - plus Team Cup R-u) ....and, finally, celebrating 40 years of winning titles without having any personal means of transport:

Available Wednesday nights, our benefits package includes free soft drinks all night and access to Roffey CC discount bar and nibbles at most competitive prices plus facilities. We are an equal opportunities Club, which is why even rubbish players get a go. Apply to Vernon, on this site.

Well, Ok, so I'm a bit late....
Team Cup Plate Final
Roffey SSC 5 Stout House F A
Dave Howlett 9800* Scott Hope 1620 Dick Cable 7490 Dave Simmons 2080* Steve Merriott 9890* Stuart Hope 1890 Mick Clack 4360 Colin Bolton 2850* Lee Cable 3540* Grant Hope 1880
Well, that didn't go quite to plan...! To say we lost would be something of an understatement...., we were stuffed, tonked, hammered, K.O'd, ....etc. There are no excuses. The table played brilliantly. (although it felt slightly too long in a couple of games!) As a result of the outcome we have decided, as a team, to hang up our cues. For a couple of weeks at least ! - we're neat and tidy you see..! We will of course be back next season..... after all, there's the Team Cup Plate Runner's Up trophy to defend....
Well done to the Roffey SSC Team, a convincing win. Thanks to Alfold SC for the plentiful food.
