Making my second appearance tonight for the Tandem (Milhouse's Team) at the Rose and crown in Chilton. Ironic really I work in Newbury but because of those Road works have to go round the houses to get there. Some idiot decided to shut thejunction north bound.
Let you know the result tomorrow will be interesting becuase usually play in a match where you have a break each so will I get a go have to wait and see

If anyone wants to post results here then it would help but need the full score card if doing so to enter the data correctly.
Portcullis 'A' 4 - 1 Barleycorn I was the only loser to Stuart Giles :(

Kevin, Milhouse, Just because you said no one posted results on here. Dolphin 'B' 2 - 3 Rose and Crown 'A' Thanks Mark ;D Just a note to point out that the draw that came out for the Blewbury cup is incorrect as I am the Tandem representative, not Ray. ;D

We had our first away win of the season 4-1 away at the Rose & Crown B. Makes up for the 4-1 loss against them earlier in the season ! Our reserve Beefy managed to get us off to a good start with a win in the first game :o
ps Kevin, just emailed the card to you.

What a table reminded me of the old Bletchingdon table once its loaded with balls good luck getting them in,
Very slow, dead back cushion and whippy pockets - what a combination.
I was against the break - what a surprise there - coming out first as usual, but my opponent missed with less than 300 scored but the balls just didn't go for me and must say its the first table I have played on where the balls roll into both cushions classic uphill sign yet roll into the 10 pocket on both sides of the centre.
Both players failed to regain the break but after watching all the games most players on the night suffered a similar fate, failing to clear the balls and so most scores were very low.
I had second highest with 2,200+ no break reminded me of an alternative rules games where the object was simple, keep the scoreboard ticking and keep em to win the game.
Ironic really considering last time I played on that table in last years inter area league for Eynsham B I lost narrolwy to KT after having the opportunity to win <1K behind with the break and 2 minutes to go and yep I messed it up >:( >:( :( :(

I think the 'A' side of worked quite hard to try and get the table better, but it is tricky. As you say on tables like that then it is a case of keep picking them off and make sure they go on the scoreboard. Often it's the lost scores that matter in those type of games.
PS Now I know who Beefy is ;D

Mark, thanks for letting me know, can we arrange at date when at the Oxon open. Not a problem with me, but i think the game has to be played before then, i think the closing date is the 12th Feb.
