Southwater SC 4 Springbok SC 1 (Another 4 & Gary!!)
Tony F 3090 Trevor 1090 Well I started well with the split/break and then mis-cued and missed the target ball for the one up, however Tony did not take advantage and only came back with modest score. It wasn't the prettiest of games, Tony ground out the win, I had a late flurry.
Tony T 1990 Gary 2770 Gary started well and then sort of stopped and Tony was right on his back. Gary kept nudging in front, but was not putting enough light between him and Tony. who wasn't going to roll over. It was a late rush at the end that sealed the victory, but could have easily gone the other way.
Ray 2470 Bill BP Another bright start by Bill, however this simply was one of his unlucky games with balls whipping out and taking down the pegs. Ray was steady and assured, though he too had to ride some luck.
Mel 1780 Lewis (Tudor) 750 We welcomed Lewis to the team and he gave a steady performance, though obviously needs a couple of games under his belt to get the eye in. Mel was never in danger in this game and played cautiously to ensure the point went his way.
Keith 2280 Mike 1640 Mike gets better each week and the point will come, he was again unlucky and lost as many points as he secured. Keith had it all to do and put together a decent break at the end to get over the line.
Both teams struggled with the table as you can see from the scores, it is not a bad table in any sense, just blooming awkward.
Night ended with decent sandwiches, thanks to the lads at Southwater for their hospitality.
