Mike started quite brightly and when Niel got to the table for his first visit he found the new top a little different to the previous one. Mike continued to out points on the board leaving Neil to chase and as much as he tried the balls were not working for him.
Barney 1820 Trevor 1360
Losing 1500 at the start done it for Trevor (just too good at the break!!). The game was nip and tuck from there and as the bar dropped Barney just had his nose in front. There was some excitement when it was evident that Trevor could still win with the balls left on the table, but Barney ensured that did not happen.
Sparrow 3330 Bill 2630
Another close game that Bill commanded for most of it, losing a break of 1K along the way. Sparrow struggled a little, but dug in deep at the death to pull himself over the line with a good clearing break.
Dave 490 Lewis 3080
Lewis started with a flourish and out a decent score on the board, unfortunately for Dave he just was not getting the rub of the baize and he simply could not get the balls to do down. Lewis played well and deserved his win.
John 7810 Bill (4 player rule) 600
The score reflects this game very well. John started and put a modest score on the board leaving Bill an opportunity to build on an early error. However, Bill could only put his finishing points on the board and the rest as they say is history, with John clearing the table with break of just very 6K
As ever a great night with our local opposition, the top is far better than the previous one so beware, once the lads get used to it they will be smashing in the scores. Great Shepherds Pie finished of the evening very well.
