Jim and Dave beat Pete and Steven
Curt and Mark beat Phil and Colin
Matt and Doug beat Damian and Tony
Nigel and Marcus in final beating Jim and Dave 3-0. The other semi in the balance

No I didn't Chrissie......  Final Nigel went off with 22k v Curt and Mark. Curt currently on break in second leg. Plate final is Geoff and Den v Kev and Stuart |

2-0 - Curt pegs his break. Marcus gets a 3k break at the end to win the leg.
In leg 3 Marcus off early, nothing for Curt. Nigel has break back.

Great finish as Curt finishes off well in leg 3 to make it 2-1.
Requiring 23,700 to win, Mark Brewster flying to 18k, needing 6k in 5 minutes Mark hit a split thick ending near the peg. A great shot moved it but nothing down. This makes Nigel Senior and Marcus Chipman the champs, well done guys.
Geoff and Den win the plate. Well done to them and to Stu and Kev the runners up

Congratulations to Nigel and Marcus on winning the AEBBA Pairs competition yesterday, they both played well and made important breaks when it mattered. Also well done to Dennis and Geoff for winning the Plate Competition.  A huge thank you to Chrissie Newson for all of her hard work in arranging everything with the hotel and taking all of the bookings, it was a shame that some people were unable to get there due to the bad weather however Acts of God are beyond even Chrissie's ability to prevent! Many thanks also to Dave Alder for running the Admin Desk, Nigel Senior for sorting out all of the formats of the competition and Dennis Atkins and Stuart Mepham for setting up a good set of tables for us all to play on.  As always, the hotel gave us a warm welcome and looked after us well over the whole weekend with some good entertainment and a nice selection of food and we thank them for that and for their sponsorship of the competition.  A very enjoyable weekend.  |
