I am pleased to announce that there is new website now live for Sussex Bar Billiards. The website is still being developed, so is far from the finished article, but the plan is that all information for the new season will appear on the site and that over time as much historical results as can be found will be added. Although there are currently some past results are already available. The proboards will still be used for the posting of information and results but the Sussex website will be the official place to see latest news, competition information, scores and league tables. If you have any feedback or features you would like to see please let myself or another member of the committee know. scbba.co.ukThanks Stuart Carruthers Sussex Chairman

Since my initial post further development and results have been added to the website, and this includes all the results and information from last season and for the coming year. Some tournaments currently have more past history than others but we are working to get what we can onto the site. Inter League results, tables and averages will be updated on website once these have started, although some of this information will also still be added to the proboards. The up to date ranking lists are also available to view on the website: scbba.co.uk/ranking-list/mens-rankings/mens-rankings-2018-19/scbba.co.uk/ranking-list/ladies-rankings/ladies-rankings-2018-19/Thanks

Apologies had not updated or checked the links in a while. Have updated them all now so hopefully should be working fine. Any further problems please let me know.

Thanks Stuart,
Website links now working fine.
One other thing you might want to visit: On the Interleague sections - both for Home and Away and One Day - all the information is there, but after selecting the year the user has to add "Series-1" or whichever on the URL toolbar at the top to get the breakdown to display.
Others may not be aware that you can do this, so maybe the addition of a sub-menu to overcome the problem ?
Cheers, tommo

Not sure what you mean by this as there are sub menus from the main menu that go beyond each season to the information (for 2019/20 this includes series 1 etc and for other seasons to each division). You have to hover over the year on the menu rather than clicking on it to show these menus. If you do click on the year of the menu it does currently take you to a blank page. Have these in there at the moment to build up the menu structure but eventually these will include links to the rest of the pages from the sub-menu of these. Have done a quick example of how this may look on the website for the current season scbba.co.uk/inter-league/home-and-away-inter-league/2019-20-season/I am however far from an expert in building websites and am learning while doing and updating it. So if there is a better way of setting up the menus to improve the experience I would be very keen to learn them and implement them on the Sussex site.

Hi Stuart, Hovering - LOL - not something I'm familiar with (nor hoovering either !!). Maybe it works like that when using a tablet, I'm using a laptop 90% of the time.
I note that for current season (only) you have now added two buttons to click on (Fixtures and Tables) and this works very well, apart from my comment earlier that in order to see the breakdown (= scorecards) you still have to manually insert the series in the top bar.
I'll have a look on my phone to see if it's any different, and if not may see you tonight to demonstrate as I haven't got a Redhill match.
Regards, tommo

Just tried SCBBA on phone laptop and desktop and on none of them do I have to type anything in to view it. Just click (or hover) on the link
From another website newbie

Taken me much longer than planned but have now got almost everything I have in terms of results from the past onto the website. In terms of results and scores since 2009 the below is what I am missing to have a complete set. - Masters from 2009, 2010 and 2011 - all results and scores
- Off The Spot 2016 Group H scores
- Inter League One Day 2016 match results and scores for all divisions
- Inter League One Day 2014 B Teams match results, scores and player stats
- Inter League One Day 2012 B Teams match results, scores and player stats
- Inter League One Day 2012 Ladies - everything
- Men's Singles 2013 scores
- Men's Doubles 2013 scores and Plate match results
If anybody can help fill in these gaps it will be much appreciated.
Also I would like to get as much historic information as I can, to include a complete record of event winners and runners-up and also all time records of player stats, teams stats and high scores from Inter League etc. I know this has been done in the past, and remember seeing it on other websites and mentioned on this forum, but unfortunately it seems that most of the information has now been lost. If you have any old copies of any of this please let me know.
I am looking in places to fill in what I can. I have received press cuttings and I am using Clive's brilliant websites to get some of the historic information, but this is focused on Horsham, Billingshurst and Mid Sussex players, so does leave gaps. Open to any further ideas of how to get more information.
Thanks Stuart

Don't know if I have sent this over to you before Stu, but here is a list of comp winners/ runners up. Some gaps but not many on this list. I do have quite a few files you would just have to look through to see if any is useful or relates to the stuff you need. If you have a laptop with you at the weekend I have them on a memory stick and copy the files over? SUSSEX CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL.doc (102 KB)

Hi Nige, I can help to plug some (but not all) of the gaps on your master list. I'll send 'em through on a sheet of A4 as the easiest way rather than try to list them on here.

Any reason why the Sussex Masters 2009 no longer appears on the website ? It was there as recently as a few months ago.

Not sure 2009 results have ever been on the website. I have all the pdf files that were put on and 2009 missing. Also if you read previous posts on this thread it looks like 2009 was missing

Also if you read previous posts on this thread it looks like 2009 was missing That's a pity as it was quite a momentous year: Richard Wooton won the main event, and Nigel posted a 21k break - a record for the competition. The qualifying groups etc (but sadly no scores) can be found on this Forum thread: barbilliards.proboards.com/thread/5343/masters-6th-june-2009Perhaps a semi-complete file (with disclaimer) could be inserted on the website ?

Just a quick note to thank Stuart for all of his hard work keeping the website updated so quickly. The One Day Inter League weekends have only just finished and all of the results and rankings have already been updated. Thank you, it is appreciated by all of us.

Agree fully Dave it is a thankless task and always good to get positive feed back as again we depend on a few to do a lot of the hard work for us and should all appreciate that and the fact that it is done in their own time and very often their own expense. Well done Stuart
