Hi Steve Will you be doing another auction this year ? Curt That just gave me some cringeworthy memories, forgot all abut that, I must've been a bit tipsy by that point. I'll make the suggestion and see if the committee agree to it. From what I do recall, it was quite successful so I don't see why not, we will be running a raffle as usual as well.

Although it's still a few weeks away, just a few things.
Don't forget we will again be raising money for The Suffolk Accident Rescue Service SARS any donations of raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Last year we raised just under £1800 for Sars, it would be amazing if we can top that this year.
For those of you wanting a proper brekfast the white horse will be serving from 9-30 on the Saturday morning, not as cheap as spoons but you get what you pay for.
And remember if you're parking in one of the towns car parks it's free but you still need to get a ticket

Thanks for my smart programme which arrived this morning. Always enjoy the feature on the last page on local history. Good work by Chris Cass, sorry to read he's giving up through ill health.

I don't think Chris will ever really give up, bar billiards is in his blood and he has done much to help promote the game. He is not the sort of person to sit back and put his feet up and I'm sure you will find he still around doing his bit.

Ooh yes, failed to spot that, although I have it correct on the Timeline:
Andy Hill was semi-finalist in the Main, along with Steve Hale, the runner-up being Curt Driver. Handwritten correction made on my programme.

Just some additional information and requests for all those involved in the 4 pin tournament which is now only 17 days away!!!!
Prize Money
Main Competition
Winner - £100 Runner Up - £50 Losing Semi Finalists - £25
Plate Competition
Winner - £50 Runner Up - £20
We hope to be able to get into the Masonic Hall from Midday on Friday 22nd March to start setting up the tables. Anyone who happens to be available from that time, we would love some assistance. The more people helping the quicker we can get completed and start drinking.
More importantly is the Sunday Morning. We must have the table out by 11am on the Sunday Morning so we will be meeting up again from 9am to break everything down.
During the event we will be holding another auction, so far we have 2 Glider Flights, A Tent along with 2 sleeping bags courtesy of Mountain Warehouse, some Ipswich Town FC tickets and a meat hamper. We are still on the look out for more donations as we attempt to surpass last years total of just under £1,800

THE ANNUAL BAY HORSE GATHERING OF BEER DRINKERS PRE OPEN BOOZE UP 2019 - FRIDAY EVENING MARCH 22ND 2019
I have spoke to Kayla at the Bay Horse and once again she and the pub are happy to welcome as many of us who fancy playing some billiards and drinking beer before the 4 pin open on the Saturday. Food will be provided during the evening.
It would be awesome if those who will be attending can make themselves known at your earliest convenience that would be great. Can probably organise a smallish tournament beforehand like a pot luck pairs or something. I've got a few ideas to throw out there to make the night a bit different.
Cheers
Steve

There has been another change. Stephen Coleman has had to withdraw from the tournament and has been replaced in Group 1 by Clive Minihane.
This group now consists of Chris Newson, Clive Minihane, Colin Baxter and James Baker.
An extra addition to the Reserve list if anyone else withdraw is Carl Metherall from Northants

A change to Group 13, Ally Prewiit has withdrawn, she has had a major operation and isn't quite ready yet, we all within the Bar Billiards community wish her a speedy recovery. Her place has been taken by Carl Metherall, the group is now Bob Osborne, Carl Metherall, Joe Ellison and Phil Osborne

I received a message from Simon Coleman yesterday stating that if anyone would like to take his place in this coming weeks Open then you are more than welcome.
Simon has just had surgery on his knee, and although he has been participating locally, being on his feet all day may well prove to much for him, so he is offering his place to anyone who would like it. If there isn't anyone he will still take part as he will coming down to support the day whatever, which is much appreciated as always.

Just received a flash warning that there is a day of Brexit action planned on Friday and Saturday, with lorries deliberately driving slowly as rolling road blocks.
M25 is mentioned on Saturday but not where or at what time, best keep an eye on travel news if travelling up Saturday.

Thanks for the warning, Sav.
I've read a few of the bulletins and most of the action seems to be centred around M5/Bristol area. There are mentions though of possible disruptions to a number of roads including the M25 possibly as early as this Friday at rush-hour time but "finishing first thing Saturday".

Well done to all the winners, and many thanks to the organisers for a well run day. For 3 of us coming up from Surrey it was our first time playing 4 pin, we did not really know what to expect, but we thoroughly enjoyed the game and will certainly be back again. A great fun atmosphere and we were made to feel most welcome. Looking forward to next year!
Cheers, Joe

Cheers, Joe Surrey finally rose to the bait, I have been calling them 'pussies' for years for not embracing fourpin and they sent three along.......and didn't they do well ?? all three were quarter-finallists, one in the Plate and two in the Main. Well done to Joe and Jim, great to witness. And John won two prizes in the raffle, he always was a lucky so-and-so.
A thoroughly enjoyable day, well organised. And breakfast at the White Horse was good.
Finally a big WELL DONE to Dave Lillie, he now truly can say without fear of contraception, that he is Dave UK 1. At last a Sudbury man wins the East Anglian Open.
