I am starting this thread as the Marine View are struggling this year to always turn out with players and have exceeded the 4 player rule allowance of 3 games, the Secretary is going to speak to them, but rather than them maybe drop out I am asking the opinion of teams via their captain of how they feel that we stretch the new rule this season just for the Marine View to be able to use at any time they have not got 5 players, think this is also beneficial to the opposing team who have 5 players and maybe one player would not get a game due to the Marine only having 4.
At present the Marine have turned up to all 8 games with a minimum of 4 players and this includes all premier sides whether home or away so all credit to them making the effort. If all in agreement will talk to the committee but will only be as rule states for league games.
I make a list of all teams below ( and yes I know it will mean breaking our rules, but it is about trying to encourage teams to continue playing at a time Worthing are losing numbers ), please if you see this as a caotain reply in the meantime I will be from tomorrow trying to contact all captains to see the general feeling.
Albion A - Bob Hall has already shown he is for this, in week 8 thread. Albion C - Agree Alexandra - Agree Henty - By Kevins post in week 8 sure he agrees Swan A - Agree Charles Dickens - Agree Swan Nomads - Pocket Rocket - Agree Tarring Club. - Agree

Thanks TJ, you have echoed my thoughts. I'm sure the M/View try to field a full team. They would have had five last week had Martin(landlord) not had other commitments.

As an outsider, may I just say how refreshing it is to see such a pragmatic and sensible league - well done Worthing! Tony

Just Nomads and Tarring to answer but general consensus seems ok

With the majority agreeing I will talk to Kevin today but sure we will go ahead and let the Marine View have a relaxation of the rule, but will stress need to field 5 where possible.

Having played the Marine View last week in the Cup, by chance we are due to play them again this week in a league match. Speaking to them last week, there is a good chance that this week they will only have 3 players. Not sure how the 4-player rule can apply when there are only 3 players. What next, a 3-player rule, a 2-player rule? I'm happy to let 2 of their players play again if they do only have 3, but I think something needs to be formalised.

We spoke at last night's meeting about the Marine View situation and decided that the 4 player rule can be used with only 3 players as well. It just means that game 5 will be a walkover. The M/View will also forfeit the break in game 4
