Redhill A 31-Mar Worthing B Dave Jones * 10980 1560 Alan Mepham Tony Cross 13380 1250 Pete Hickman * Geoff Jukes 6180 0 Ben Goodwin * Gary Powell * 10730 120 Dave Jones John Slee 4710 7090 Rick Cunningham * Dave Constable 3680 2830 Josh Williams * Terry Oakley * 11000 0 Tony Jenner 6 60660 12850 1
Well done to Redhill on a comprehensive win taking the chances given to them, Rick fought back well with a 6k break after going behind against John.
The highlight for Worthing although he unfortunately pegged them was a break of 7930 by Josh Williams, he was going well and exceeded his previous high break easily but spun the 100 on the break, he had opened with 2830 so it would also have been is first 10k score, DC taking his chance to pinch the leg by playing the table out after Josh pegged.
Geoff and Ben had been close when Ben black pegged. I had a slight chance in the last when 7.5k down and about 7 minutes left but at 2k took the peg when spinning the 100 on the split.

Hastings, west Sussex no show by west Sussex,no call or message! anyone know? I am currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this match. I would say that the circumstances surrounding the first match between these two sides are still a mystery. I still have not heard from either captain about it being postponed, Colin Southouse kindly told me. I have not heard from either of them regarding a possible re-arrangement until Martin Cole gave me some information regarding it last night. I know that plenty of people read the forum and don't post but everyone involved knows my mobile number and/or email address so it would be nice that the captains inform me what is going on. The Committee have had a request to extend the season and this is currently under discussion by email. When a decision has been made I will notify everyone but please do try and get sides for the two remaining scheduled dates as your opposition will be expecting you

I have been informed that the west sussex b captain had contacted hastings regarding the match in question. The number supplied went to voicemail so a message was left. Please can all contacts check their voicemails and let me know if this is the case?

West sussex A 5-2 worthing A **Gary Evans 7640 v 3100 Stuart Mepham Chris Cox 9990 v 2320 Mike Daw ** Alan Hitchman 3600 v 9150 M.Smith ** **Barry Holt 10080 v 70 Kevin Tunstall Daniel Wheal 8830 v 3400 Joe Oakley ** Martin cole 440 v 13540 Gerry Fitzjohn ** **Trevor Tucker 5670 v 1700 Terry Molloy
A great win for west sussex against another top side, alot of games closer than the scores suggest. Gary off early with stu getting the balls back not being able to take advantage, gary getting them back to make a winning break. Mike off early on a split coxy settling down really well after a few tricky leaves to get the home side into a commanding position. Martin off early with alan looking solid on 3k before coming off, Martin didn't hesitate to make sure on his second visit. The 4th going very similar, barry off early, kev not being able to get the balls back barry made sure second time. Joe had an off night not playing to his potential, daniel playing 2 good breaks to take the win for the match. Gerry... well this was straight forward 😂 he battered me, i missed then he battered me some more lol. Trev winning the last with a solid opening break of 5.5 and molloy with no luck. The table playing under par in comparison to normal but still well playable.

Brighton A 5-2 Tunbridge Wells **Jack Baden 7560 - 4400 Vinny Mitchell Chris Tupper 3000 - 11,260 Curt Driver** Phil Osborne 9010 - 8150 Pete Sainsbury** **Jim Millward 11,620 - 5260 Bryan Stevens Bob Hall 7600 - 9610 Richard Corbould** Matthew Knight 9080 - 6440 Martin Russell** **Nigel Senior 22,250 - 0 Paul Sainsbury Back on home soil Brighton A were in good form in their re-arranged match v Tunbridge Wells. Bit of a scrappy first leg but a clearance shot from Jack moving a ball in the middle and having the cue ball fly back in the 200 a pivotal moment Hats off to Curt he took the barracking well in leg 2, deserved though when he whipped a split out and the ball dropped perfectly in the 200, and he missed but an unfortunate peg from the Tuppster gave him a second chance Leg 3 a very good opener from Pete, but even better response from Philip he was on fire with a great break to put us in front Jim always in control, getting enough and touch. Bryan with a good reply Competitive leg 5 saw Richard start well and Bob settling in with a nice reply but a rushed split saw him off and Richard kept calm for the win Martin was off fairly early, there was a bit of faffing around at the top with me first to get the back. Not quite sealing the deal, Martin had a small chance which he couldn't take Brilliant break from Nigel in the last of 22,250, no chance for Paul and a 5-2 win for the hosts There was plenty of banter with the usual suspects having plenty to say. Thanks to Tunbridge Wells for a good night
