If the Singles winner is unavailable, can the County send the runner up? Thanks Lee (Cambs) County sends whomever it chooses to represent them in AEBBA singles. It does not have to be their open singles champion. More severe restrictions apply solely to the AEBBA Pub Team Championship. The only restriction is that the county represented is the only county that player may represent in AEBBA championships that year.

Janet Burns - Berkshire - for the Ladies, please.
I *think* Dave Alder will go for the Men's but I'll let him tell you himself if that's the case.

Think we have all the entries.
Cambridge did enter last year with Morgan Wright - can they let me know ASAP whether they have anyone this year?

No Northants entry in AEBBA competitions - despite all the talent they have there ?
Not a protest vote, surely ?
NB Simon Coleman threw his hat into the ring as a late entry.

Thank you to the organisers, was great to attend.
The tables in Cambs are VERY different and the standard is a lot lower but it was good to see how you guys play and I definitely picked up some tips ahead of the Under 30s and Cambridgeshire Singles.
Great experience thank you.

Great experience thank you. Glad you enjoyed it Lee, you will benefit from the experience of playing the better players and better tables. We had a good game - 20k v 10k over the 2 legs, I only just pulled away with my last break. Hope to see you (and maybe some other Cambridge players) in more AEBBA events in the future.

Debated all day as to whether to say anything but firstly a huge congratulations to dawn on winning yesterday very close in the end, secondly after all other comps where winners AND runners up were announced I more or less had to force some sort of reconition for being runner up. I'm not trophy hunting but it's hard enough for us few ladies that are still playing,at least can we be noticed in future?

Was really pleased to have won the Ladies yesterday, after many, many attempts!! It was a very close day, with Jenny and I both winning 3 out of our matches and coming down to aggregate. Thank you to everyone who made yesterday possible, and all the hard work you do. Having played in the over 50's and the ladies I played nearly all the tables, and they were all excellent.
I was absolutely made up to win it...............but..............
I am totally with Jenny. I also don't usually write on here but was really disappointed. We had a presentation that went straight into the Ladies winner, no recognition for the runner up at all. Also, having done a 12,400 break (which I have never done in competition before) and scoring a 10,800 break for Jenny, there was not even a mention of those. Then we came to the Men's - Matthews break of 25,700 was mentioned (and very rightly so), and there was a cash prize for the men's runner up. Now, before you all jump down my throat, I know there were two groups for the men, creating a final, but it was not our fault there was no representative from Kent, Northants or Hampshire to have two groups.
Now I am not blaming anyone, and Pete & Dave could only present the trophies/prize money they had, but perhaps next year this could be looked at.

Now I am not blaming anyone, and Pete & Dave could only present the trophies/prize money they had, but perhaps next year this could be looked at. Thanks for the feedback - I have received it loud and clear from several quarters today. I must be honest, I have found it difficult to manage the competing demands from the entrants to these events. In response to repeated requests we removed the charge that was previously levied for All England singles events in 2018. In addition, we introduced prize money for the first time in over a decade to further recognise the tremendous achievement it is to win these events. This was maintained as far as possible this year. It was therefore hoped that we would secure adequate sponsorship to ensure that all rewards could be maintained. Sadly, as you can review from my thread requesting support, this has fallen rather on deaf ears and sometimes it is difficult to convince our already generous existing sponsors to go beyond their planned commitment. But even still, the rewards in 2018 and 2019 far exceeded that of the previous ten events and with no entry charge to boot - surely that is worthy of recognition? Whilst it is true that it is not the entrants fault that there were only five entries for the women’s event - it makes it rather hard to justify three trophies and two cash prizes for this event but we will seek to do better next year and hopefully subsidise it through reinstating the entry charge or by finding additional sponsors. That said, there was no high break prize or trophy for the men, but there was a small cash prize for the runner up. I agree that it is not acceptable that the women’s high break and runner up were not even mentioned - sadly it is clearly an unintended oversight. I did not write the closing comments that were delivered and so cannot comment on the content - but can offer my apologies. We ALWAYS try our best to recognise all performances when we round up events as well as thanking our hosts, sponsors, helpers and - obviously - Dave for everything he does. I will contact Jenny directly to personally apologise for this. And will ensure that you are properly recognised for your remarkable achievements yesterday. May I finish by offering my hearty congratulations to you on your event win.
