are there any family rooms on the remaining floors in the queens? We could see if anyone would swap. We usually go to entertainment while Alf stays in room. Obviously i’m not prepared to do this if we’re in a different hotel. Not really much point going if we can’t go to the entertainment???

Hi Chris The point is that Alf gets bored and wants to go to his room and we stay down and have a drink and enjoy entertainment. We can’t allow a 13 year old boy to go to another hotel on his own so I agree with Hevs. There is no point us going.

Is there any chance of finding out if we could be allocated a room on the 1st or 2nd floor as Jo has had a total knee replacement recently and would struggle walking between both hotels throughout our stay Thanks Doug

If we cannot fit you in at the Queens would you rather both rooms were over the road?
Hi Chris
Sorry if we are not at the Queens we would cancel our booking , will leave for you to confirm later .
Thanks .

Keith Hi Keith, Not trying to slope shoulders but I don't want to give false information as Chrissie is working hard, as we speak, with room allocations and talking to the hotel. She knows the hotel better than I do so unfortunately I have to leave Chrissie to run with this. We did not quite fill the hotel so there are a few possibilities with empty rooms. Would any of our guests with single occupancy of twins/doubles consider sharing please? (only if we have twins available). Can I please ask everyone to give us the weekend to negotiate with the hotel and come back to you when the position is clearer.

Hi Chrissie
Thank you (and Sav)for all of your efforts in resolving this situation on our behalf. We would be quite willing to stay at the other hotel if it helps you and/or anyone who's circumstances would make it difficult to do so.

Thank you so much Sean truly appreciated.
Dear All
I have had many acts of kindness such as these on the board and others via email.
I cannot thank people enough for being so kind and supporting.
Kind of showed that there is a family of people in our Association whom care for all …
Thank you x
I promise once I have talked to Daniel on Monday I will start to update rooms via Chris on the Tuesday as I have taken the day off and will let you all know.

I think the least the Queens could do, after messing us around like this, would be to allow those booked into the other hotel to have breakfast there.
The thought of having to walk (possibly in rain and snow) to get breakfast at another hotel, then walk back again to get ready for the day and finally walk a third time to get back to the tournament - that fills me with horror.
Let's also be realistic about the normal prices at the hotel - hotels pitch their prices by supply and demand. The hotel only has 64 rooms and as most of those were probably reserved for the AEBBA, then of course they would charge a premium for the remaining few rooms. On their website they have a spring special offer of £32.50 per person for bed and breakfast. They do state there would be a supplement for Friday and Saturday nights, but I doubt that would bring them up to £170 a night!
When will we know which of us have been unlucky enough to have been moved? Is it down to which rooms we were originally allocated, or is it down to who booked first?

I quite agree with the Breakfast Ros. With regards to the price, don’t forget we all pay for the Hire of the room for the weekend, that’s why we cannot book a different hotel at a cheaper price for the weekend and play.

At the request of Chrissie, who is not near a computer at present, she has asked me to list those people on the top two floors who will be moving over the road.
This I will do in the members area.

The list with the lead names on the top two floors is attached at the request of Chrissie. top_floors.pdf (59.84 KB) Those rooms will be moving to the Royale. Chrissie will confirm, if correct, but you may choose which hotel to have breakfast in, main meal will be in the Queens. It is intended that a shuttle minibus will run the 100yds between the hotels but I do not know the operating hours. Chrissie will be able to tell you more when she next logs on.

Dear All
I understand your frustration and know it is not ideal i have tried this year to support you all ? It us not mine or Savs event it is AEBBA buf in support of them and Lorin totally what would you suggest ?
You have still a free lunch Saturday courtesy of the queens ,a minimal walk or a shuttle...
Please tell me where you would find two nights with Dinner Bed and Breakfast, lunch Saturday , room hire free for the tables from Friday to Sunday totally reduced bar prices and entertainment at 115 per person for two nights.
You find it and tell me
Thanks Chrus

In my main quote other than this you can eat breakfast at the Hotel you are In your choice.
You do not pay for the hire of the room as someone responded in your post ... if you did add another 30 pounds at least per person for the time the Queens allows us to have it...
