Hello everyone,
For those of you who are competing this weekend, for those who wish to follow events as they happen, I’m please to say that the website will now show fixtures results and the draw.
Please navigate to the AEBBA website menu item for the pairs and choose from group fixtures and results or the main draw page to view what you’re interested in.
The results will be updated throughout the event and so it will be easier for players to use the website on their personal devices rather than the admin desk to ensure you know when you are next due to play etc. Of course, we’ll still be delighted to answer any questions you may have.
Best wishes,
Lorin

Some early results.......... Doug Carswell and Matt Jones win Group 9, Alan Oliver and Ian Moss go through with them; Sean Stratford and Pete Sainsbury win Group 10, Jim and Alfie Millward proceed with them. KT and 'Nipper' have won Group 5 but it's a 3-way tie for second (decided on scores ?)
In Group 14, Kevin Hall/Stuart Mepham and Kev Stoner/Bella Stoner - both through no matter what - and it's a 'lucky group' so receive Byes in next round ! Similarly, in Group 13 , Alan Lacey and Phil Griffin take two steps forward, as do Jon and Leanne Tyson.

Some more group winners............ Grp 1 Tony Cross & Dave Constable (Trafford & Ponting also go through) Grp 2 Paul Sainsbury & Dave Alder (Driver & Brewster also proceed) Grp 3 Simon & Stephen Coleman (three-way tie for runners-up) Grp 4 Both through: Sandra & Lorraine Hall and Trevor & Jacqui Fitzwilliam - both have 4pts) Grp 7 Tony Jenner & Ric Cunningham (Alan Donovan & Stan Roback also through) Grp 11 Damain Coates & Jim Grinstead (Gary Powell & Colin Robbins also through) Grp 12 Leon Beer & Phil Collins (Jenny Parsons & Mel Standbridge also proceed)
Here's the interesting bit: Groups 6 and 8 are both three-way ties. Someone is going to be unlucky and be dumped in the Plate having won two matches !

Quarter-final results Curt Driver & Mark Brewster lost to Kevin Tunstall & Martin Cole 20680-20790 <<< amazing game !It most definitely was and had an unfortunate finish. It is very unfair to ask people to comment on individual games but possibly Curt will do in time

It's always difficult to spot where the drama might have been just by looking at the scores. So good to get informed comment from someone who was actually there ,,,,

Hello Everyone,
All scores and results have now been added to the AEBBA website.
Thanks to everyone for making it a true Bar Billiards weekend with some absolutely astonishing performances - a 24k+ break, a Channel Island player in the Plate Final, Group 14 delivering a main Quarter Final pair, a Main Final pair and both Plate Final pairings and many more examples of wonderful play too numerous to mention.
Thanks to all players,
AEBBA Team

Some stats for you on the Event's recent history:
Well done to Kevin Tunstall & Martin Cole, the 2020 winners. A first time for Martin, but K.T. has now won with three different partners: Tony Martin (5 times), Ricky Dewdney and now Martin.
2020 Runners-up Kevin Hall and Stuart Mepham are now on a mission: Plate Finalists in 2018, Main Comp Semi-finalists in 2019; Runners-up in 2020. 2021 ??
Matt Jones and Doug Carswell have been beaten semi-finalists for 3 years running and will also be looking to go one better in 2021.
...and spare a thought for Curt Driver and Mark Brewster: Runners-up in 2018, Winners in 2019, and a near miss to putting out this year's winners: a mere 110 pts over 2 legs in which a total of 40k was scored !

I watched that game as it was on the table to the left of Mark and Sid's qtr final that I was also watching. FTR mark then ran that same table out for 24K in the semi, the games had to be timed as the bar dropped, but still an amazing score !
Was it the highest scoring table of the weekend - probably :)
