I'm not convinced .... life yes, but intelligent life ? So far no responses have been received to our transmissions on a special frequency linked to hydrogen. But then again an answer may come back x million years from now - so how would we know ?
The thought of a parallel universe is also a possibility - but one where Corbyn is PM with Diane Abbott as Home Secretary scares me beyond reason. So I'd rather cling to my stubborn belief that a super race (probably giants) visited the Earth in biblical times, purged the human race of its hybrid creatures, shrank others down to size, injected human intelligence and disappeared back into a different dimension of time (where 2000 of our years equal 20 of theirs !)
