The RDBBL committee met on Thursday 23rd July to discuss what is happening with the league. Everyone was in agreement with the following plan:
We hope to try and complete the unfinished 2019/2020 season (both league games and competitions) by July 2021, effectively cancelling the 2020/2021 season. As it stands bar billiards cannot be played in almost all of our league venues so when exactly games can resume will depend on the government advice and each of the venues willingness to have bar billiards games being played. So we are currently not scheduling any matches and we will review this as the government advice develops.
We have sent out an email to all our members to gather everyone's opinions and keenness in order to help us plan for resuming the league once it is possible.
The competition weekend scheduled for early September which may have included the Surrey Open has been cancelled. Hopefully we will be able to run the Surrey Open again in April 2021.
