For anyone still checking this forum and doesn't know, The Mont has gone.
I saw Dover on Friday and he informed me that Bob has the table and will try and find a new home if and when the pubs reopen. A couple of places have been mentioned including the Hartington. But I am going on 2nd and 3rd hand info.
Here is to hoping it won't be long before we can get back to playing again.

Yes, Sav, it is. Unless someone buys and reopens it, it's gone for good.

So sorry to see that we may have lost this venue in Brighton. As venues go this was a jewel in brighton’s Crown. Always enjoyed playing at the mont. always a good welcome, a real pub. Just like the Albion further down the Hill. I hope the mont guys find a venue as good. This part of Brighton must date back to the 19th century. I won’t be walking up fron queens park ever again....

Thought i better give everyone a quick update.
The landlady at the Mont has decided now is time to move on and we are all devastated. She purchased the table from Tarratt when they decided no longer to rent them out.
Dad (Bob) has purchased table and it's keeping him entertained through lockdown.
The plan is once the pubs fully reopen and get up and running we will look for a venue with both teams in mind.
The Mont may still reopen as owned by a pub co and we can put table back in and carry on. If not possible we will search for a new venue and have a few in mind.
Hopefully we can keep it local to the hanover area as majority of players live near by and is not just a once a week meet up.
Will keep you all posted. Gary

The Mont must be the longest surviving pub in the Brighton league with a Bar Billiards table.

If I remember correctly, the Montreal had a table in the early seventies if not before. We had a team there for a couple of seasons after the Red Lion closed, I’m not sure exactly but the Montreal is the fifteenth pub to go from the Hanover area of Brighton.
