Have just been informed of the sad passing of Den Hatchett former league secretary and player of note, mainly in the doubles with his support partner Peter Roberts (Den’s opinion - not mine!). A superb organiser he turned the Worthing League into a fully functional unit that I was very grateful for when I took over from him 1971/2. A lovely bloke with a great sense of humour who always drank Double Diamond…… unless it was out of someone else’s glass!! Den had not been in the best of health for sometime but was always his usual cheerful self whenever we met. Sincerest condolences to Maggie and Ellie. Rest in peace old pal - I’ll miss you!

Sad news. A great stalwart of the Worthing League over many years. I will remember Den for his many comments which, though often acerbic, were invariably delivered with a twinkle in his eye. Rest in Peace Den.

Sad news.
Believe it or not the last time I saw Den was on a plane heading back to Gatwick from somewhere in Spain (I think 🤔). I went for a wee and there he was lording it in the front row.
Great bloke.
