is being held in the Gordon Luff Room at the Roffey Social & Sports Club staring 8pm on Tuesday 27th July 2021
Everyone on the mailing list has been notified but I'm putting this post up in case anyone has missed out, needs reminding or wants to come.
Good talks have been ongoing by the Steering Committee (John Tidy, Dave Simmons, Ian Giffen, Graham Sparksman) ever since an informal meeting of the combined committee members was held to discuss if a merger was possible between Horsham and Billingshurst leagues.
Some preliminary documents have been sent out to our email list and more up-to-date documents will be sent nearer the time, however they are only to show what a new league could look like, and essentially we have merged the 2 rules into one version which was not as bad as it sounds as they were very similar anyway. Also the rules can only really be agreed at the proposed Inaugural General Meeting IGM of the new Horsham & Billingshurst League due 10th August again at the Roffey Club.
If either Billingshurst or Horsham reject the proposal at either of their EGMs then the IGM will be cancelled and a normal Horsham AGM will be held on 3rd August at Roffey Club (all the same dates as previously notified by email), and if both leagues agree to the merger then our AGM will be cancelled in favour of the IGM.
I would like to emphasise how important it is for as many people as possible to attend the meetings, especially the EGM. We are trying to extend the life span of Bar Billiards in our area and need your help in doing just that.
Finally I hope you have all kept well and continue to protect yourselves from this awful Covid virus, and will see you in just over 2 weeks time at the Roffey Club.
Since Billingshurst voted 'NO' last night to the proposed merger, we are cancelling the Extraordinary General Meeting, which was due to be held next Tuesday 27th July, since it is now unnecessary.
This means we will proceed with the regular Horsham League AGM due Tuesday 3rd August, 8pm Roffey SC, in the Gordon Luff Room which allows plenty of space for social distancing, so please come along and support your league.
The only rule change will be the proposal from Stuart Carruthers, which shows 2 possible ways to alter the formula used in calculating the points used in the Ranking System, which will be covered within the Agenda sent out on 24th June 2021.
