It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Joyce Mannell.
Many will remember Joyce from the days of Southern Counties and the many ladies competitions that she played in over the decades.
Our thoughts are with her family

Sad to hear the news about Joyce who was a lovely lady. I remember playing Joyce in many Ladies competitions throughout the years and they were usually very tough games. Sending my condolences to family and friends at this time. RIP Joyce xx

Sad news. One of my last memories of Joyce, bless her, was at the end of my last season in Pompey, (2004-2005), she was the secretary and she said to me... Geoff you have 4 trophies to collect, Div 1 Winner, Aggregate Winner, Automatics Cup Winner and Open Pairs Winner, did I want 4 separate gongs or if not she Could pool the money together and get me one for the 4 combined. I said Joyce let’s keep it simple and go for the combined option. Well Joyce really deliver here, it was a pair of nice wine glasses on a plinth, nicely engraved with the 4 comps on the plinth. Marvelous. It is still on my mantelpiece 16 years later, I look up at it as I write. Way to go, Joyce. RIP.
