Hi all
I'm starting to strip down one of the tables for some light refurb and Iv'e noticed the coin box and timer mechanism cover is a light blue almost teal colour.
It looks like the from face plate on the timer pull was once the same colour and all looks original rather than someones "spray" job.
My question is, was this a standard factory finish (as I would like to keep it original), or should I fire up my blasting cabinet ?

Virtually no coin boxes are original as the coins needed to be stored became much bigger as the years went on
Original coin boxes were only about five inches square with an integral lock, that became around seven incehes long and finally about thirteen inches long (several varieties) with the tongue and hasp padlock arrangement.
I have all sorts of colours where owners have painted them.
Most boxes were galvanised.
Most clock tops are original apart from coin shutes and are mostly a pretty cruddy rust spotted black.
Don't rhink it matters too much!
Some later Sams patented English faceplates with the bigger diamonds were painted black. On the earlier French clocks they are almost all ally/monkey-metal, watch out for wear to the top of the slot the the pull handle sits in on these.

Thanks both, I'll check to see if I can see any more detail on the timer and check for wear.
I was mistaken it doesn't have a coin box, I thought it would collect somewhere but can see what you mean. The blue colour is on the timer case and cover, I'll take a procure and post it as I'm sure I saw another when I was trawling the internet looking for a table a while back.
Thanks Seamus
