Old Oak 2, Horley CC 3 *Nick (60) lost to Alex (7510) Clive (3340) bt *Chris (1770) Paul (3450) lost to *Neville (3590) *Martin (5060) bt Aaron (3820) *Charlie (2270) lost to Chris (4 plyr) (2500)
Nick was profligate, breaking 4 times which allowed Alex to settle. I had another scare. Aaron unlucky in losing a decent break with a whipped split before Martin made sure. Third game was the crowd-pleaser: Nev made a thousand break to lead by 160 just before the bar went. Paul potted small fry to the point that he needed the last two down to win. Both whipped the pocket. Then Nev could win by potting both balls, and only potted one, leaving a last-ball 100 shootout. He held his nerve and potted it at the first attempt. Chris won a close decider with Charlie so went home happy.

Salfords A 1 Spcc A 4
Zoe 3650 Junkie 2080 James 1590 Dave 8570 Vince 2460 Tracy 4220 Teri 1590 John 7460 Sheila 1040 Laurie 6660
First up Zoe and Junkie. Zoe with the break made a good start and took early control. Junkie with Chances but couldn't get going at all. Some more steady stuff from Zoe was eventually enough for a win . Was it Junkie back on the beer ,relieved of chauffeur duties his downfall?
Game 2 James and DC. James off early gave Dave an early chance and he made a good break..James struggling a bit to get going Dave got them back again and ran out an easy winner.
Third up Vince and Tracy. Early chances for both players and an even contest to start. Plenty of goes ensued till Tracy made a decisive break to take the leg.
Teri and yours truly on 4. Teri unfortunately left one up short which gave ma a good chance. I never made the most of it and we each had a few goes. Eventually I got the balls back and one good break was enough.
Finally Sheila and Laurie. A scrappy start but then Laurie got going to take a useful lead. Sheila playing well Got them back only to miss a one up. Laurie's chance which he took to wrap things up.
A lovely evening with the Salfords team with highlight of the night a delicious birthday cake for Tracy made by Teri. 🎂🍰
