A closely fought game that could easily have gone either way with the home team pushing the visitors in every game, Phil played superbly in the last game with an opening break of 6,250 which he thinks is a personal best. Enjoyable evening in good company with 2 lovely pizzas and a big portion of chips.

New Oak B 2 Duke of Wellie 3
Stuart 12610 Mick 390 Stuart opened with 10k with a couple of dodgy shots. One 100 split rimming the hundred and causing a few intakes of breath from the crowd. Fortunately for us it just missed the peg.
Ash 2920 Colin 2950 Fair to say neither got going in this one but was nice to see the old Colin playing (Colin) shots and hearing the comment when needs must
Jean 8800 KT 1660 I went off with 4K and was fortunate to be first to get the break back to add another 4K. Bit of an exhibition from KT after that with scoring 1000 in 3 shots (red down 200 twice and then the hundred). And no I wasn’t tempted to go for any of the balls near the 200 😂
Alan 4550 Tupps 5540 Alan off on 3500. Both then struggled at top until Tupps got break back and struggled to leave one up for split so reverted to playing 50’s. Off on 5k then Alan finished off with 1k
Jean (4player) 2080 Dave 8530 Dave off with 3k+ and was first to get the break back for another 4K+
Good evening with the Wellie and a close match. Nice pasta bake to finish

Blue Anchor 2-3 New Oak A **Tony Jenner 8890 - 160 Marcus Chipman - TJ started well but pegged his opener, Chippers could never get going, TJ taking advantage with two good breaks Matthew Knight 690 - 10,430 Phil Osborne** - Excellent 10k break from Phil gave me no chance, only one moment of anxiety for Phil when it looked like a split would be short but the 100 just dropped in and that was that Chris Cox 4030 - 9790 Ian Lelliott** - Excellent 9k opener from Ian was enough for the win, would like to say there were a number of "shot Ians" but really there weren't. Ian needed them all as Coxy got his score from one visit, looking in good form - thanks to him for stepping in last minute **Rick Cunningham 5660 - 4760 Bob Osborne - Rick was off on his first split, with apologies he did say he would still win. It looked unlikely as Bob kept getting the balls back but he was out of practice and this proved costly as Rick (true to his word) made a very good 5k break to send the match to a decider Joe Oakley 490 - 13,420 Nigel Senior** - think most people would be with an 8k opener but fair to say Nige was not quite at his best so it gave Joe a small chance. Also fair to say getting them back is not Joe's forte and so it proved as he couldn't manage it and Nigel finished off to give the visitor the win Despite the result was a great night, with plenty of good natured banter - Ian in fine form with the one-liners
