A high scoring match with the table playing very well, the home team took their chances in the first 3 games and Pete was the star performer tonight for the visitors in the last game. A lovely spread of food (sausage rolls and loaded potato skins) and always plenty of laughs with the Alex A team. High breaks - Pete Hickman (12,500), Martin Smith (11,000), Dave Ingram (10,520) and Jim Millward (10,010).

Tarring club 2 Henty 3
Tony C 940 v 6600 Mike D - Excellent opener from Mike putting him in control Matt J 4330 v 2370 Chocie - one of those nights for Stu, nothing went Mike F 1690 v 8330 KT - Mike off early, I made about 3 breaks Bepo 1340 v 5140 Stu C - Stu always in control David C 2590 v 1660 Molly - Neither player getting to grips with the top
Happy to take a 3-2 here, table not easy. With the Stags B losing at the POW, we are now joint top with them, all to play for with two matches left each

Prince of Wales 3-2 Stags Head B **Barry Holt 13660 - 910 Jean Brackenridge - very good opener from Baz, won't mention the lucky escape from a whipped split and one outrageous fluke at the top of the table to get the balls back - both very early in the break Chris Cox 5600 - 8080 Phil Osborne** - neither player at their best, Phil off a couple of times early but then settled down with a 5k break after Chris had put a one up behind Martin Cole 640 - 11,760 Nigel Senior** - Nige worked very hard to make enough first visit despite a few excursions and a very large slice of luck on 9k when a whipped split narrowly missed the right hand peg **Alan Hitchman 5970 - 1830 Chris Tupper - plenty of opportunities and breaks in this one, Tupps unable to get anything going and a steady leg from Alan making it 2-2 Daniel Wheal 10,460 - 2020 Matthew Knight** - another night with the break to forget for me. Off on 1k after missing the split and leaving the ball bang in front of the ten pocket, Dan had a couple of fortunate escapes early on but then made a very good 7k break. Still had half a chance but managed to get a kick second break shot when getting them back A golden chance missed tonight with really good opportunities spurned in the last 2 legs. Plenty of loud encouragement for both teams mixed with the usual banter still made it an entertaining night As Kev said all to play for in the last 2 matches. They definitely have a better run-in, although a trip to the Vine on their tricky table still makes it interesting

Vine 2 - 3 Blue Anchor Told Blue Anchor wins for Alan Mepham, Andy Farmer-Wright and Kim Hurley in the decider. Yes. Alan beat Ros in the first game, solid game by Alan, not much run of the ball for Ros, missing the break when getting the balls back didn't help, courtesy of the red ball moving on the spot. AFW winning with the break against Neil, best match of the night. I got them back towards the end against Steve towards the end to bring us back into it. Tony holding his break game against an out of sorts Welsh wizard to level things. So to the decider. Tony for us by virtue of 4PR. A close game throughout with Tony ahead but Kim getting the break back in the last few minutes to close out the win. Am sure Mr Jones will provide the scores. A good match in an exceptionally loud and busy pub with a music quiz going on. Good evening with the BA guys and girl.
