You know the feeling when you try your damnedest to get the break back but it doesn't happen - but your opponent clears the table at will and adds a couple of k's each visit ? Well it happened to three of us tonight. But fair play to the Clubmen who demonstrated a whole array of shots (split included) and as Jeff quite rightly said their table is a case of "Feast or Famine". The feast for us arrived after the match in the form of Wholemeal sarnies with tuna/sweetcorn and ham fillings and some tasty sausage rolls .....
Ian 2420 Dave 4730 John 2170 Tracy 2660 Taz 1400 John 890 WI'll 2450 Junkie 2800 Taz 420 Vern 1110 (4 player)
First up Ian and Dc with Ian off early Dave off as well both struggling a bit.A few more shots And Dave got the balls back only to come off again. Ian next to get them back made a useful 2k to take the lead. Eventually DC got going and a 3k break put him in front and was enough to take The leg.
Tracy and John on next and an even start with plenty of goes. John next to get the upper hand with Trace struggling to get going. Time running out Tracy got the balls back and had Just enough time to nick it.
3rd on me and Taz and what a leg. Taz missing early but left it awkward for me. Loads of goes Each and i just couldn't pot a ball. Taz potting a few was unlucky leaving a nasty one behind the 10 hole. Took it on and black peg. Eventually I got them back only to miss a 50 and was off.A last Ball on the table ended up by the black and I managed to skittles that (nothing each). A few more For Taz and time was up.
4th up Junkie and Will. Both on both off and a level start Junkie got his head down and got A lead. Plenty more goes and Will got the balls back and caught up.A really tense finish and Junkie held his nerve to pot the 100.
Last but not least Vern and Taz on 4 playing. Vern playing some of the nights best billiards Got to 4 grand lead . Taz struggling Vern cleared the balls but on 2k managed to whip the 50 For the 3rd black of the night. A few at the death and he sneaked home.
A strange match at the bricks which could have been so different. Close games on a tricky top and my carnage of a leg to lose my 100% win season so close to the end !!!

A grounding defeat halts the Nomads steady rise.
A match which really brought the Nomads back to earth started with a scrap between Joe and Geoff. Neither player really made a mark on the match and compiled a sizeable break and there were chances aplenty - but it was Geoff who squeezed through.
Next up Michael's 10 match winning run was stopped with Tony going off with an 8k break and tapping up, with less than seven minutes left Michael didn't manage to get the balls back in his one visit, with Tony playing the bar out for a rapid 6k.
Thirdly JP and Gary entered the baize and this was another close encounter, in the end a 2k break mid-frame was enough to see Gary hold out and get over the line.
Next up Jim came off after 1k from the break and a faultless display from Colin saw him rack up 8k and tap up. From there the frame was over and Colin just about managed to get over the 10k mark with the last shot.
Finally Joe returned and showed what he could really do, easing away from bud with a pair of good breaks.
So a grounding for the high flying Nomads - they will require big wins at Old Oak and at home to Salfords A to keep themselves in the Division 1 hunt. Meanwhile MVC B negotiated this potential obstacle with some ease, making sure that the title is almost theirs.
