A good result for the visitors, Jim the only one to get enough first time he got the break back and the other 4 games were all in the balance before breaks in the last quarter of each match made the difference. Enjoyable evening and lovely big platters of sarnies and chips.

Caxton (Formally Railway Club 2 - 3 MSC This match was supposed to be played at the Caxton but due to Covid earlier in the season, was swapped to MSC
Kim 990 - 1990 Martin 0-1 Brian 2120 - 1960 Phil 1-1 Steve 1070 - 1120 Colin 1-2 Liam 3510 - 1040 Peter Over 2-2 Liam 910 - 3460 Colin 2-3
Both teams had 4 players but MSC had to find a 4th player so 4 player rule still applied Kim didn't really get a handle of the table so Martin ran out the winner. Phil broke and ended on just over 1k but Brian kept sneaking back. Phil needed to leave 1 ball up in the end but both went down. Steve had trouble with the table which allowed Colin in who complained that it was the lowest winning score he'd had for 15 years. Liam got hold of the break and didn't really look back. Peter hadn't played for 20 years but gave a good shot. Over hitting it most times Liam had to stand back while Colin took charge but his earlier form deserted him and he messed up the break when he got it back. Great evening with loads of banter from both teams. Thanks lads and lass Table didn't really run for either team. Think we'll have to look at it. Same again next week with both teams meeting for the Plate at the Anchor.

New Oak A 5 - 0 Master Mariner B
Nigel Senior 5,810 - 3,610* Paul Brmahall Phil Osborne 12,450 - 0* Lorraine Pendry Bob Osborne 7,620 - 690* Mark Buckle Marc Chipman 6,630* - 1,260 Paul Bramhall (4P)
New Oak win 5-0 against 3 man (or 2 man plus 1 lady) Master Mariner B
In leg 1, Dover used the aggressive strategy of naming first away from home AND not even drawing out the player for the 4 player rule game but rather just naming himself. So I put myself on. A couple of breaks got me 5k up, Dover came back with a couple at the end to make the score respectable. 1-0
Leg 2, Lorraine insisting she was just making up the numbers, left both balls short on the break shot. Phil in no mood to let her off her mistake ran in 10k, Lorraine unable to impact the scoreboard in a visit or two after Phil's break.
Leg 3 Mark lost his opener and Bob capitalised to put the New Oak 3 up.
Leg 4 Marcus out for revenge after losing to Dover at the Mariner earlier in the season, where he claimed the table was so tough no one scored over 2k that night. Looking at the results on the website, Dover actually did get over 2k, and in fact Phil O got 8k in his game. We can check these claims out Marcus.....he did get his revenge though with a nice 6k score.
Well done to the Master Mariner B for playing the fixture, they couldnt get 4 but that was down to Reggie's back according to Dover.

Blue Anchor 4-1 New Oak B Tony Jenner 7790 - 4950 Jean Brackenridge** - shaky start from both players, Jean then settled down to make a 4.5k break and off. TJ excellent 7.5k and touch to give us the lead Chris Cox 8510 - 6370 Michelle Baden** - very good opener of close to 4k from Michelle but Coxy in awesome form with 8.5k (no excursions) and touch for 2-0, Michelle finished off Matthew Knight 9790 - 6640 Alan Brackenridge** - Alan off on 1k, I got them back first shot with outrageous fluke and made enough with one excursion, Alan finished off Rick Cunningham 0 - 6470 Ash Harrison** - Ash off early twice, Rick could not get the awkward balls back and when Ash did he made a confident and controlled 4k break. Rick had a chance and was going well but missed both on a 10 split which gave Ash the win **Joe Oakley 10,510 - 2870 Jean Brackenridge (4 player) - Joe also in awesome form with a faultless 10k with no excursions to give 4 player Jean no chance Good night as always with the New Oak B team who were a little under strength tonight, well done Ash on his win. with the victory against still strong opponents and keeps the league still pretty close - hope James and Stu C recover soon

As you can see very little in both divisions, although New Oak B have a couple of games in hand which might help them. The top 3 in the Premier Division have to play each other in one form or another so it will being going right to the wire in one of the closest Brighton Leagues for sometime
