Stags Head 5 New Oak B 0
Jim Millward 7,380 v Alan Brackenridge 5,070* Grant Tully 7,450* v Michelle Baden 1,360 Rob Hall 4,050 v Jean Brackenridge 2,990* Dave Ingram 5,590* v Ash Harrison 240 Stuart Mepham walk-over
Stuart did play a friendly against Alan at the end of the night.... a game that they managed to draw with Stu potting the last 3 balls at the top of the table to level the scores! 🙄🤣
Enjoyable evening, plenty of friendly banter and bad jokes. 😆
Thank you to the Club for their hospitality and a couple of large platters of sandwiches. 😄

Moulscoomb Social Club 3 - 2 Caxton
Colin 3230 - 940 Kim Martin 590 - 2120 Steve Dave 6240 - 2090 Brian Phil 5070 - 2700 George Dave 3170 - 5240 Brian
Rerun of last week but with different players playing each other and both teams still having only 4 players each Colin went off well against Kim who really didn't get it together even with Steve's encouragement (sort of). Colin threw away a 7k break by placing the ball neatly behind the black peg but he did find out where the 100 hole was. Steve potting well to start but Martin had his chances and could have won not withstanding the white peg getting in the way Dave didn't really look like losing this one as he kept getting the break back George put up a 2k start and I couldn't get started until George knocked over the peg on another 2k and gave me the break back. 5k break finished the game with George potting the final few balls Rerun of Brian and Dave with Brian starting this time and Dave really couldn't get hold of the breaks when they come his way. Terrific evening with lots of banter. Matt, thank the staff for a brilliant spread which we weren't expecting.

Bevy 2 Mariner A 3
Kev 3170 Gary 3690 Both of us opened with 1k breaks , Kev first to get them back and left 1 up short (again) , Gary finally got break back and played to the bar .
Ash 1800 Moppy 3300 Moppy always ahead.
Bella 2510 Darren 2110 Both missed their opening breaks , Darren always in front until Bella whipped 50 hole put the red straight in the 200 and held on for the win.
Doug 2160 Bob 3040 Game was back and forth then Doug got a (lucky) 200 off back cushion but then left the break short, Bob cleared up for the win .
Ellis 4160 DJ 3380 Good game , yet another lucky 200 for our team , Ellis played well to get top score of the night.
Even with all that luck we still can't win a game 😕.
Not sure if the pub knew the game was on but unfortunately no food provided.

Blue Anchor 3-2 New Oak A **Tony Jenner 11,240 - 770 Ian Lelliott - excellent 6.5k opener from Tony, Ian pegged his and then the Jenneral played sensibly throughout including touching up on his next break for a great win James Whittle 3890 - 7410 Phil Osborne** - excellent 6.5k opener from Phi, James didn't get many first visit but he gave it a go with time running out when he got the balls back but couldn't make up the deficit **Matthew Knight 5800 - 5640 Nigel Senior - 2 captains took each other on in a feisty and low quality third leg. I did make 3.5k first go and off with maybe 1 or 2 flukes, Nige had more breaks than flukes but still could not put me away. I was 220 down when the bar went with 5 in the tray and 2 on the table, cleared up and sunk the red first time in the 100 for the win Joe Oakley 3270 - 660 Marcus Chipman - Felt extremely sorry for Chippers as he got to 7k, playing very well after a ropey start, with a fluke or 2. He left a ball by the right hand 50 and unfortunately he hit it full in the face and it flattened the white peg. Joe a steady 3k for the win and the match It was during this leg I was lambasted by the opposition captain for saying, after Chippers had a fluke, "that's 8-1", it was the only wind up of the night from me but I was literally ripped to shreds verbally for the rest of the night, so sad and upsetting Don't worry Nige you are ok for a lift on Saturday **Rick Cunningham 3990 - 8280 Martin Smith - Rick started well but new 20k man Martin made an excellent 7.5k break when his chance came, playing some good recovery shots as the white was starting to come inside. Rick finished off Excellent win for the Anchor, great first leg from TJ set us on our way, plenty of "shot Ians" during the night which even brought a smile from the great man. Lots of laughs and wind-ups too. Cheers for the lift to Rottingdean Chippers and for winding up Nige even more by telling him you were impressed with my clearance - look forward to the final and our opponents being even more sociable
