In Search of the former Bourne and District League.....
Being in the Kesteven division of Lincs, this was a 3-Pin league. For 4-Pin, see Gedney Hill /South Holland.
National Newspaper Archives have thrown up the following extracts. Bourne seemed to be an area rich in pubs, which suffered greatly with the dismantling of railway branch lines, up till then a convenient way of getting around, the Fens road infrastructure leaving much to be desired!
Consequently many of the pubs in the early listing are sadly no more.
