Hi Mark, Will the club be offering a food menu - along similar lines to that quoted in the thread for the 2020 competition ?
Cheers, tommo

Yes, there will be breakfast rolls/baps served in the morning, a little break, then a lunchtime menu for a couple of hours in the early afternoon. Cheers

Unfortunately I will have to withdraw due to positive Covid test.... That's a shame, Dave, but know that you were due to have your operation last week and trust that that went well.

A pleasant sunny day spent today at the Oxon Open (a first go for me since 2011) Journey was smooth, 2 hours there including a detour through Henley-on-Thames, and 2 hours back taking in a quick squiz at Dorchester Abbey.
The day not short of drama, as usual the AEBBA tables each throwing a different challenge. But of course fair to both players. A sterling job done by Mark Trafford on the admin desk. And good to see Dave Ingram looking well after his op - and able to play.
Last 8 stage onwards (someone please fill in the winners): John Boal lost to Matt Jones; Alan Donovan beat Dawn Jordan; Mark Trafford lost to Simon Coleman; Steven Sheard beat Ernie Jordan.
50% Bucks in the quarters ! In the Semis Matt beat Alan and Steven beat Simon.
The Plate Semis were: Damian Coates bt Alan Brackenridge; Curt Driver bt John Slee

To add a few memorable moments (as requested by the Sussex contingent )....... 1. My good buddy Slee making the semi of the Plate, but unfortunate in facing last year's Main winner Curt; 2. Nigel losing a last-ball game v Ernie (both having a couple of goes at the last 100); 3. John Boal in the quarter-final answering Matt Jones' 19k lead with a slow, determined "I'm gonna keep him off the table" reply abounding in good shots; 4. Matt's semi-final on table 2, Alan D frustrated because only playing the reverse break seemed to work. 5. A game I scored on table 3, BBW v Dillon: a real struggle once the table got loaded. Dillon had a great chance towards the end but not enough r.h.s on the one-up and pegged a useful break before BBW played out time. ......and my own game v the World Champion: wimpishly touched up on 6.5k as I had seen someone earlier whip a split and lose 2k (0.1 ranking point worth the journey!) ..... Break included an outrageous 200 via the right hand 50 .... got on again facing an easy leave and somehow messed it up. Traffs then played to the bar and overtook. Frame 2 and Traffs touched up on 9k: game over, or was it ? I managed 2k in reply and Traffs back on and with a minute to go tried to hit a ball up the middle by screwing back off the far cush. Skimmed the object ball and almost in slow mo carried on towards the BP, tickling it before dropping into the 200 hole ! Brown trouser moment, but, as Mark said afterwards, matched my one in the first frame. Sossig and tasty chunky chips went down very well by the way.

Off topic I know but was wondering if anybody else that were present has had covid since this took place ?
I haven't left the house since that Saturday and hardly seen anyone but have now tested positive (2nd time) a few days ago!
Just curious as you can't prove where someone catches it.
I hope you all keep well in the heat over the next two days.
Keith
