Update on the AGM.
Rule Change from Ros Appleby.
2 A team shall consist of five players and every competitor must be a registered player for that League team.
A League match shall consist of five games of singles and the order of play shall be determined by a free draw carried out by the captains before the start of the match.
The names drawn must be allocated to games in the order they are
turned over i.e. the first player drawn is allocated to the first
game, the second to the second etc. (This does not prevent captains
agreeing to a change in the order of play.)
This sounds obvious but stops any doubts on the draw.
From the Committee.
As we only have one division now this will be split in 2 sections when a team from the Lower Section plays a team from the Upper Section they will have all away breaks.
Normal break rules apply for Lower V Lower & Upper V Upper. The Division split to be decided by the committee. Currently this would apply to The laughing Fish, Hassocks Millers & The Nomads.
The High Score & Break awards have been removed this is in response to comments received this season & in the past of players feeling demoralised or being thrashed. This is aimed at keeping teams in the League.
Changes to the break order for the Charity Cup In all games the away team to have the break in games 1,3 & 5 Home team have the break in 2,4 & 6. This to avoid any disadvantage in an uneven number of away matches & there being insufficient weeks to have Home & Away for the Charity comp.
Full wording will be issued before the season starts.
The committee remains the same mainly but Trevor Rees has stood down following his move & Paul Moyes Robb has also stood down.
Thanks to Trevor & Paul for their work on the committee.
