Salfords Y 3 Spcc A 2
Mark 13510 Junkie nil Nev 7220 Laurie 1120 Sue 480 John 7310 Baz 3790 DC 4650 Anita 4490 Tracy 3580
First up Fritz and Junkie and Mark's break. Off with a cracking 8k and touch. A few more goes each and Mark first to get them back. Another smooth 5k and that was that and nothing Junks could do except buy a beer.
Game 2 Nev and Laurie. Loz off on 500 gave nev an early chance which he duly took. 3k break and opened a good lead. Laurie Managing to score a few to peg a few with not much luck. Nev next to get them back added some more and ran out a worthy Winner. 2-0
Next up me and sue and my break. Not the most fluent but kept going and 6800 k and touch put me in control. There followed some Top of the table tip tap and I was first to get the balls back. Flying along on 5k and I caught a 100 split thin and oops ⁷but time Was up.
Fourth on Baz and DC and Baz took an early lead. Game got a bit bogged down with plenty of goes each. Dave eventually making a Few. Baz next to get them back restored his lead. With time against him Dave got the balls back and just had time to make enough to nick the frame. 2-2.
Deciding frame was an all ladies match Tracy v Anita, on paper a close encounter and indeed it was. The lead switching hands Uuntil Anita gained the upper hand. Time running out Tracy got them back but the bar beat her and, Anita held on.
Lovely evening with the Y's as usual and a deserved win for them.

Further to Clive's report - here's my take on the evening. Game one was really the Abbey show as an early break of 2180 gave her a comfortable advantage and with the table filling up it was plenty enough to get past Nick who flirted with the black peg on multiple occasions in his pursuit of clearing the table up. Abbey's break was enough to catapult her to the top of the Div B Ladies High Neutral Break board - now that Jemima has rightly been kicked out. 0-1. Next up Paul was up against Max. Sadly for newbie Max he played too many snooker shots - precisely trying to pot one ball - and he wasn't comfortable with the downhill nature of the table. Paul took full advantage by making 3k when his opportunity came and pulled a leg back for the home tema. 1-1. Next up captain Martin faced off against the Nomads' form player, JP. Sadly for JP though Martin was in good touch, with a pair of 3k visits plenty enough to see him past the finish line and put the Old Oak ahead. 2-1. Fourth up Charlie couldn't live with the revived Jemima, as she racked up another impressive score - the highest of the nigh so far - including a lovely break of 5,120 which ended seconds before the bar. 2-2. Finally, Billinghurst teammates Clive and Michael did battle in the decider, and given every leg had gone against the break Michael was keen to buck that trend. He did so in emphatic fashion, opening up with a match-high break of 5360 before further contributions of 3k and 1k took him to a second five figure score of the year with Clive not able to get the balls back. 2-3. So a very enjoyable evening at the Oak and one where I have no doubt Clive will merely be hoping that Michael can replicate his form while playing for him tomorrow for the Windmill.
