Salfords B 3, Old Oak 2 *Caroline 3600, Nick 1080 Tom 7270, *Charlie 870 *Liam 4330, Martin 4900 *Dave 2120, Clive 1240 *John 1350, Paul 6170
The gods not smiling down favourably on tommo this year ...... v DaveJ, he having the break on his own table? : Martin, you're having a giraffe! The fully expected 15k and touch-up did not happen though, Dave off on less than a thousand.... I pegged a half-decent reply with an inept split shot and a war of attrition ensued with me chipping away at the lead but a difficult ball up the middle, which neither of us felt inclined to move. Just 700 in it at the bar.
An enjoyable evening, good games from Caroline, Tom and Liam, and for Salfords 3-2 was a fair result on balance.

Nomads | 3 | v | 2 | MVC A | Max* | 4720 | - | 3280 | Benny | Jim | 5390 | - | 1710 | *Grahame | Michael | 4100 | - | 2430 | *Chris | Will* | 690 | - | 3360 | Neil | Abbey* | 1460 | - | 1650 | Colin |
First up was quite possibly the critical tie of the night, with the winner of Benny v Max likely to be the key game when deciding the winner of this tie. Max was on first and went off with a controlled 3.5k break, beautifully made and kept and Benny set about catching him. His initial attempt ended at 1.8k but when he got the break back a second time parity was in sight. Luckily for the Nomads though, the break was left short and Max got one last go at the break to pull clear and get a long overdue win. 1-0. Next up Jim got over some early wobbles to continue his fine form by easing to victory over Grahame. 2-0. Third up and captain Michael had the opportunity to get his team over the line, Chris provided a good game but on a night where Michael's one up was perpetually short of pace he still came away as a winner. 3-0. Fourth on and Will faced off against Neil. The game was very scrappy early on but Will was the first to get the break back and having got the break and the "Sussex one-up" he tried to be a bit too delicate in potting the ball over the 50 and the white didn't reach the red! 500 points gone and an easy clear for Neil who then romped home to pull one back for the visitors. 3-1. Last up Abbey took on Colin. This was another scrappy game in which Colin held a lead ranging between 100-300 throughout. As it got to the end Colin's lead had been cut to 20 points with four balls left, he cleared three balls to get to a 90 lead with one ball left... straight down the 100 - magic. 3-2. So a fair result reflecting the close competition between these two teams, both battling for a top half finish, and the Nomads got their Div B title campaign back on track after a humbling loss last time out.

Spcc A 5 Reigate ex 0
Dave 9990 Les 2000 Tracy 6520 Bobbie 280 Junkie 5430 Barry 3850 John 4980 Maria 540 Laurie 5680 Maria 1170 ( 4th player )
First up rematch of a couple of weeks ago DC and Les. No friendly starts for Les tonight and Dave off with 5k. A few more shots each and DC got them back again and another 2k. Les eventually Cleared the table and made 2k himself. A few more added by Dave and frame over.
Second up Tracy and Bobbie. Bobbie off early gave Tracy a good opportunity and she took it In style splitting her way to 5k and touch. A few more goes each and game over.
Game 3 and a cracking game by both players. Barry breaking off with 1500 and Junkie really Struggling to get going. Barry playing well cleared up and added another 2k to take a healthy Lead. Against the clock and under pressure Junkie next to get the balls back and made a Terrific 4k break to steal the leg.
Next up yours truly and Maria. Maria unfortunately off early and plenty of goes each till I eventually Cleared the table and 2k and touch. Plenty of goes and support for Maria to encourage her followed. A few more small breaks to the bar.
Maria back on 4th player last and some more useful practice time. Laurie like my previous leg Put a few on the board and let Maria get some table time
A nice evening with Bobbie and the Reigate ex. An Amazing lady still playing at well into her eighties. Although struggling to get a side at the moment it's great to see Maria giving it a go

MVC B 3 v Salfords Y 2 A very enjoyable evening as always with the Y’s. The table was again awkward, making it tricky to get the balls back. Wins for Bud, beating Fritz, Tony beating Karen and Colin beating Anita. Away wins from Sue against Geoff and Nev beating myself in a close game decided on the last ball.
