Well done the Caxton. I've now lost count of your league wins.

New Oak A back on track with 3-2 win over the Duke of Wellington
Duke of Wellie 2 - 3 New Oak A
Terry Molloy 10,300* - 1,290 Bob Osborne Chris Tupper 6,090 - 6,750* Ian Lelliott Kevin Tunstall 7,220 - 10,590* Nigel Senior Colin Smith 6,510* - 4,020 Marc Chipman Dave Reeves 1,240 - 10,130* Phil Osborne
In leg 1, Terry looked good (given he had never played the table which he mentioned a few times afterwards) and made around 6k. This proved to be a winning break. 1-0
Leg 2, Tupps went down so I put on Ian, and this turned out to be the pivotal game of the night. Ian opened with a nice 6.5k break. Tupps got the balls back and reached around 4k when the bar dropped.....a few seconds before the legal 15 minutes. Table lifted and 3 minutes extra was agreed, Tupps stayed on but fell just a few hundred short. 1-1
Leg 3 KT down next so I completely changed my mind as I told Chippers in the car he would be playing KT with the break, I put myself on. Nearly off after leaving the red short on my 3rd break shot, but got them back to make 10k. Kev making 7k in reply. 1-2
Leg 4 Birthday boy for today Chippers said, because it his birthday, I had to be nice to him in the report. However, the match was played yesterday so all bets are off. Colin started well making 6k, but then got the balls back a couple of times and didnt kill the game off. This gave Chippers one chance with around 8 mins left but he unfortunately underhit his first one up. Chippers then rallied with a 3k break which in his eyes exonerated him as in his words 'he never got a chance anyway' 2-2
Leg 5 Phil on for the decider against Dave. Had a few nervy moments for Phil to start with, but then he settled down to kill the game first visit. 2-3
Very good match, table much better than last year, it will be slow for some but nice to have a change from all the rapid tables we seem to play nowadays, oh AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIPPERS!!!!

Mouslscoomb Club 1 - 4 Blue Anchor
Dave 1340 - 6860 Matt Martin 2310 - 5470 Joe Colin 0 - 3940 Rick Vic 680 - Tony 1600 Tim 3690 - 3080 Chris It seems the MSC could get the break but not the one up in the first 3 games and the Anchor team took advantage and a whoopsy from Colin in the 3rd sealed the win. Vic was really unlucky not to win the 4th but a miscue when he was aiming the other way, knocked the black over but he did well to recover. Tim started well and the middle of the game was a mishmash with neither player making any headway but the break by Chris at the end was a little too late and he ran out of time. At least it wasn't a whitewash and it was a good night with a lot of shouting (mainly from Matt). Thanks for the game, lads.

New Oak B 3 Stags Head 2
Alan 4600 Kev H 3840 Table tricky tonight and both players struggling. Alan off with 2k and although Kev got the break back try as he might couldn’t get the break. Alan added another 2k then Kev break back and this time found the break shot but ran out of time
Sandra 2570 Dave 2140 Both players struggled but super sub got break back to take a 300 lead and some nice play at top of the table at the end clinched the important game against the break
Chelle 2760 Stu 9280 during this game we were wondering what the problem was as Stu played well and a few breaks took the game.
Stu 7650 Jim 5070 Stu went off with 2500 (highest opening break so far). Jim break back and looking good until he left one up short. Stu then played the table out with 5k
Jean 2030 Grant 11850 Grant didn’t look like missing but came off on 7k after leaving the red on the one up short and playing a few 50’s. I missed Grant break back to add some more. I got break back but ran out of time on 2k 🤣
Nuggets and chips went down well but some players (Jim) struggled with the very hot 🥵 chilli sauce🤣
(Note to Alan - whilst scoring don’t dip a chicken nugget in chilli sauce🤣🤣)
