Congratulations to Nigel Senior who won todays singles beating Mike Daw in the final.
Congratulations to Jean Brackenridge on winning the Sussex Ladies Singles beating Lorraine Hall in the final. The Ladies competition was played in 2 groups of 3 and the winner of each group went forward to the final. I believe in Hannah Cole we saw the youngest ever player to enter a Sussex Singles event.
The Mens Plate was won By Mark James who beat Chris Tupper in the final. This one went down to the last ball, Chris requiring the 200 to win and he caught the back of the hole and whipped out but no peg. Mark sunk the 100 first time.
Again thank you to Stuart Carruthers for a great day on the admin and a big thank you to those who helped to get the tables down and onto the van (Stuart Carruthers, Stuart Mepham, Alan Brackenridge, Kevin Tunstall, Kev Hall, James Whittle, Matt Knight and Joe Oakley - Hope I have mentioned everyone.
A great weekend of bar billiards that high lighted the standard of Bar Billiards in Sussex, thanks to all that entered and made for great competitions.

Congratulations to Nigel Senior on winning his 5th Sussex Singles title, matching the achievement of Terry Race, Kevin Tunstall and Jim Millward.
Barry Holt and Mark James (each on 4 wins) will be looking to join this exclusive club.
Congrats also to Jean Brackenridge on winning the Sussex Ladies Singles for the 17th (!) time.

Thank you, Jean. Ah yes, competitions were just got in in time before Covid reared its head. Had checked the SCBBA website and noted the absence of 2020 Mens Pairs, therefore hadn't updated the year on my log. But now realise that Mens Pairs was changed to 'Open Pairs', and the 2020 Singles/Doubles did take place. Apologies and congrats on your 18th! |

Thanks all - very pleased to win my 5th, been trying 8 years to get there so I can get level with Terry Race and Jim Millward to match the record. Only to have had KT move the record to 6 titles since then!
Well done to the other winners Jean, Jim & Mark in the doubles and Mark in the singles plate who beat a very determined Chris Tupper who was going for the plate double after we won the pairs plate together on the Saturday.
Thanks to Stu Carruthers for running the event, plus Stu Mepham and other helpers to set up the tables. a terrific weekend.
