Just a quick note to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day and to thank the SCBBA for staging this once more on behalf of AEBBA - and endorse the tributes to the team of organisers already made .......
A few highlights committed to memory: Spice beating Silent and condemning him to the Plate. A fate which he was able to see the funny side of when trying to gloss over when announcing the Group H results (well done to Jean incidentally in winning that group, matching hubby in winning his)
Michael adopting Jemima's Jekyll and Hyde qualities, rabbit of negative euphoria when under-performing in Group B and then going on to play some amazing billiards in the Plate, including a 14k against poor Bob Osborne who had earlier received a pummelling in Group of Death A, to match his fate of the previous day.
Coxy carrying on the good work from Saturday, an excellent 9k Plate break against me in the Semi, to secure a Final place two days running. Saw some big breaks lost, too ..... notably by his POW teammates - a 7k each from Dan and 'Nipper'. I was guilty too of spilling just under 5k vs Chocie, and then somehow managed to win on the last ball when my mind had completely gone !
A nod of approval to my other Windmill teammate PJ who always seems to punch above his weight in these competitions, and also to Brighton's Steve Burns who seems to enjoy the format with a good performance on both days.
And finally a huge well done to Boball for winning a second successive Open, same venue and all in the same month. He has now become the man to beat !
