Congratulations to the Duke of Wellington who won the Brighton Summer League final at the Brewery Tap. Gary Frizzell won the first game on the last ball to put the Duke into a 1-0 lead Regg3y (John) Perrin lost the second game courtesy of the black peg so the Montreal equalised. Regg3y was so far behind he had a toilet break with a couple of minutes still left. 1-1 Game 3 proved pivotal. Racehorse started off with 3k only to lose them but then Dave Richings put the break down 4 times. RH then pegged another potentially winning break only to get the break back again….and put the balls down 4 times. Dave cleared up to win by around 400. 2-1 Roy, landlord of the Duke sealed the win with a solid display 3-1 Brian White then made the scoreline a flattering 4-1 by winning the last game The Duke have won the tournament (and as Roy pointed out the first they have entered) – well done to them. Well done also to the Montreal who did very well to reach the final after just completing their first season in division 2 last year. Good luck to them for the upcoming season. My thanks go to all the teams that took part, and chairlady Jean who came to present the trophies. I am sure a regg3y will be able to embelish us with more details...

I would like to thank the Montreal team for a good night at the Tap.
The score was a bit flattering as Nige said, what with the first game going to the last ball and Racehorse losing so many good scores.
Thanks also to Nige and Jean for showing up on a slightly(?) damp evening and giving us all a show of support. Jean, was it really two nights in a pub in one week with no Bacardi?
Lastly, I would like to thank the team. All seven people who have played for my team have played their part (sorry I forgot Kitty the mascot) in making the summer league what it should be, a bunch of people going out, having a beer or five and having a laugh whilst trying to win a game of Billiards.
Thanks again to everyone (well nearly) for making this years Summer League a good season.
P.S. Sorry to Mr P for taking his hame in vain twice this week. after such stupid shots the cue just had to go.
