Albion A 3 - 2 Brewery Tap A
Brewery Tap's unbeaten record comes to an end but they had their chances against the Albion A who remain unbeaten at home.
Jean Over* 3,800 - 3,670 Chris Reeves
Bella Stoner* 4,820 - 9,550 Nigel Senior
Doug Dawson* 1,430 - 11,850 Gareth Lloyd
Alan Brackenridge* 8,010 - 2,820 Marcus Chipman
Caroline Retfalvi* 5,700 - 100 Richard Wooton
Game 1 - Jean started well getting a 3k lead over Chris. After a scrappy middle part of the game Chris got the balls back and started to chase. The bar dropped and with 4 balls left and the break potted twice, Chris was 120 behind. Chris potted the break once, and then missed the one up with 2 whites. Jean cleared on of the balls and potted the 100 to win. 1-0
Game 2 - Bella opened with 3,500, Nigel got the break back and touched on 9k, and in doing so keeps his 100% record for the season. 1-1
Game 3 - Doug opened with 1,500, Gareth got the balls back and got to 11,800, despite a couple of ropey shots near the end! Gareth also stays unbeaten for the season 1-2
Game 4 - Alan opened with 3,500, Marcus looked good but whipped the red on the break nearing 3k and was off. Alan the got the break back and killed the game to set up the decider. 2-2
Game 5 - Caroline pegged her opening break of around 2k, but try as he might Richard could not get the break back. Caroline managed to get herself 4,800 in front, before Richard eventually getting the break back with 4 mins left. However, Richard, probably rushing, whipped the 100 on his first split and taking out the peg. A good win for Caroline who has now beaten both my teammates Richard and Chris this year.
From the grapvine (Chubbster) I have been told the Dyke A beat the Three Horseshoes 3-2. This leaves the Tap top with one loss out of 7, the Horseshoes and the Dyke A have 2 losses from 7.
Team Knockout Cup games next week (draw is on this forum), and League action does not restart until the new year (3rd Jan 2007). When I get all the results I will post the up to date tables and player stats.
