Duke of Wellie 2 - 3 Kendal
A match full of incident. The first 3 games had bar problems. In each game the bar dropped after 11 minutes and we had insert another £1 and time 6 more minutes and call time. The other 2 games worked fine. The first 4 games could have gone either way but for loose or poor choice of shots.

Brewery Tap beat the Dyke B last night 3-2 . I dont know the scores as I did not play.
I would like to say a big thank you to our new super sub who won her game against the break to secure the points for the Tap.
Wel done team. :)

Seems like we have two super-subs in our midst.
Three Horseshoes 3 Romans B 2
Kt & Ian won the first two games comfortably against Bob & Kim.
Steve Hurley established about a 5k lead on Mal in the 3rd, Mal retrieved the break and got to within 2k and hit his split to thick. This handed the point to the Romans. 2-1 Colin Green had several chances and set up a 4k lead on Geoff. When he eventually got the break back, caught Colin up only to miss a ball in the middle. 2-2 Enter my lovely wife (who i must add has been playing some brilliant billiards of late) to play the decider. Roy Marsh was her opponent and it turned out to be a top of the table battle. Roy did get the break back at least once but couldnt sustain it. Hayley on the other hand chased balls all over the table, playing some great shots but with no luck. With about 2 mins left, she got the balls back and set up an 800 lead. Roy again retrieved the break and the bar dropped. When he cleared the table, he needed to go behind the black to win. Unfortunately for Roy the peg went. Well done hunny ;) :-* 3-2
If i`m not mistaken, that`s 5 wins out of her last 6 league games (Littlehampton & Worthing as well). Shame she hasn`t been selected for an Inter League team ??? :(

A few more details from the Dyke B v Brewery Tap A
Game 1 - Chris struggled early on but stayed on the table and settled from about 3k onwards and touched on 10k against Terry Coghlan.
Game 2 - Terry Molloy got a kick to miss both balls on the break on about 500 to give Marc an early chance. Marc got down to one ball and was a bit unlucky not to have a chance on the break. Terry got them back next visit and scored enough. 1-1
Game 3 - Gareth Lloyd beat Terry Race kicking off with a tremendous 11k. 1-2
Game 4 - Michelle Baden playing her first game in Brighton for a couple of years played Mark Scott. Mark started with only 500 or so, and after a few visits each Chelle got the break back and played very well to get to 4k, and giving her teammates a bit of a scare with one split that whipped round the 100 narrowly missing the peg. This gave the Tap a 3-1 lead and saved me the pressure of a last game decider.
Game 5 - I played Mick Hall. I got up to 4k and missed a ball at the back. Mick Hall got the break back and ran the rest of the table out to make the final score 3-2.

Albion A – 3 Dyke A – 2
Game 1 – Doug Dawson went off with a 4k+ break but Kev Simmons only got to touch the table once. Doug got back on to amass another 4k+ break to finish it off. An impressive 9,370 (if I remember correctly) score and the highest score of the night. Doug had had more than 3 weetabix that morning! 1-0
Game 2 – Alan Brackenridge broke off with about 6k but a nasty spin out of the 50 hole let Chris Tupper in. Chris got the break back but couldn’t hold it letting Alan finish off the game. Another 9k plus score for the Albion A. 2-0
Game 3 – Caroline Retfalvi broke off with a slow 6k (just couldn’t get the 1 up right!) but leaving enough time for Colin Smith to come back. However, Colin missed a split leaving only about 400 points the difference in Caroline’s favour. Caroline and Colin messed about at the back of the table but Caroline was on the table when the bar dropped and able to sink the red and the rest of the balls to beat Colin. 3-0
Game 4 – Bella broke off with just over 1k and the split seemed to be going further right as the night went on and the back pockets spinning out a little. Neither Chubbster nor Bella could do much points wise. It was a bitty match letting Chubbster take the spoils. 3-1
Game 5 –Jean Over broke off but pegged her break of around 1500. Micky Winder then totted up around a 5k score with Jean amassing around 2k. 3-2 (I was scoring this game and this is the one I remember least about)
Great win for the team and a very pleasant evening. Good to see Iain Thomas out for a bevvy too.

Sorry forlack of scores, but a very entertaining evening with the highlight Mick`s win against Bill in the decider. He was the only one who looked at ease with the table.
