I hope I've got the right Wallingford (Oxfordshire?) but it's because of the quaint little pub (the name of which escapes me) near RAF Benson that I got hooked on this game. I'm not a computer whizz and don't really understand these forums, but I was hoping that someone might be able to help with how to gain information about the table I've just bought. It was for sale recently on e-Bay from Boston, Lincs. It was made by Burroughs & Watts and is "free play". Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. If there is anyone out there that can help, please feel free to get in touch; my e-mail is spike.malin@btopenworld.com I hope to hear from someone soon! :)

Congratulations on your purchase.
With a Burroughs and Watts table you have a nice sturdy piece of kit, well put together, and of the right dimensions too.
I saw that one go up on eBay and thought it looked the business.
Wallingford is a hotbed of activity for bar billiards - Oxford and Sussex are the strongest counties with the most leagues, and there is a Wallingford League. You didn't actually say that you lived in that locality though, so not certain what opportunities you will have to enhance your experience of the game.

I used to be in the RAF and visited Benson a few times, I now live in Norfolk but I manage to play the wife and kids a few times!
Any idea where I can try and dig up some history regarding the table?
Best wishes,
Spike
