Three Horseshoes 4 Brewery Tap `A` 1
At last :P, a league victory over the Tap boys and a crucial one at that!!!! Although still 9 matches to go, the Shoes have put themselves into a prime position, 2 points behind the Tap with a game in hand. With their leg difference far superior to the Taps, they "only" have to win their remaining fixtures to take the title.
KT 11,840 v Gareth 1,800 Ian 15,610 v Richard 170 Mal 0 v Chris 11,080 Geoff 13,420 v Nigel 150 Rick 5,690 v Marcus 3,940
Game 1 - Gareth off cheaply on 1k, after a few goes each i got them back only to break down on 3k. Fortunately Gareth didn`t retrieve them and i made another 8k for the point.
Game 2 - Ian broke off with 6k giving Richard a chance but to no avail. Ian then made another two scores for the second point.
Game 3 - Chris opened with 6k+. Mal could never get them back and Chris added another 4k.
Game 4 - Geoff`s been in great form of late and i had no hesitation in putting him on fourth for the crucial win leg. He opened with just under 9k leaving Nigel only five minutes. Geoff added a few more for good measure.
Game 5 - Marcus & Rick had a ding dong battle in the last. Marcus off early, Rick taking a 2k lead, Marcus catching up and both players level until the last two minutes when Rick got them back for a great win.
Great curry & chips after. Good choice on my part in putting Geoff on fourth instead of Rick. After 3 bowls of curry & chips, Rick was struggling to bend over the table :-X ;)

Well done to the Horseshoes on the crucial win, we were outplayed on the night.
The horseshoes are certianly in pole position, but with 9 games to go there may be a few twist and turns yet.

A very good evening at the Albion and many thanks to mine hosts for their welcome and the food supplied. Windmill 5 Romans A 0 All breaks to the Romans.
Game One Dave Nicholls off at 450 against TJ , steady 3.5k for TJ before leaving split short of 100 hole, managed to touch and keep score, Dave got break back but again off cheaply. TJ back in and made sure, before Dave finished off with around 1.5k. 11140-2740 1-0
Game Two. Paul Pitfield opened with 2k, both players then had chances at the break but only put in small scores, with the bar due Gina Sherratt managed to get the break back and put in enough to pinch it from a very unlucky Paul. 4910-3970 2-0
Game Three. Pete Aylmore against Dave Anscombe Pete missed the break, Dave managed 2k and from there was always in control. 3180- 1530 3-0
Game Four. Tony Hunt off at around 1k, Arthur Brewster opening with 4k and again always in control. 6380-1650. 4-0.
Game Five. Dave Roberts pegged his opening effort leaving Bil the break and he made no mistake touching up at over 10k. 11630-1530. 5-0
Thanks to the Rmans for travelling to the Albion and fr a most entertaining evening.
