Romans B 1 Brewery Tap A 4
Good win for the Tap on a Romans top that was difficult to get the break back on but was a bit of a flying machine if you could get the balls back
Game 1 - Richard Wooton could not get the balls back against Bob Thomas and lost 1590 to 2000. 1-0
Game 2 - Marc Chipman defeated Roy Marsh by 3910 to 1490 with a nice 2500 break that put him in control. 1-1
Game 3 - Chris Reeves struggled to get the break back but eventually did and comfortably beat Colin Green 7530 to 1210. 1-2
Game 4 - Gareth Lloyd had a similar game to Chris and knocked in a winning break when he did eventually get the break back, he won 6920 to 1340 and sealed the win for the Tap . 1-3
Game 5 - Nigel Senior knocked in a 10k break after getting the break back at the first time of asking and should have made a early high break target for the season. A further break left him on 15760, poor Dave Jones having scored just 690. 1-4
So the Tap are now 2 wins from 2 at this very early stage of the season

Nigel, Well played, and if you were in my team your performance would have prompted the usual wry comment from John Turner thus :
"well, the table got easier as the evening went on" ;D ;D ;D

Brewery Tap B 3 - 2 Kendal
Game 1. I started the ball rolling against Simon. He didn't have much luck at all scoring 530 to my 4720. 0-1 Game 2. Adam Reay started the next game with his highest ever competitive break of 4190. Pete Muckle couldn't do much to get back at him. Final scores 5440 - 1600. 1-1 Game 3. Tony went on against Mike. They had a scrappy game with nothing really standing out for either, and Tony winning by 3820 - 2620. 1-2 Game 4. With Taxi having to go behind the bar whilst the food was being sorted, Phil ended up starting the forth against Andy. It was not pretty to watch as both players struggled to get anything going. Phil won 1550 - 1160. 2-2 Game 5. Taxi played Dave in the last and crucial game. He won by 4250 - 1130. It would have been closer if Dave had not put the break down 4 times during the game. 3-2
I saw Roy and the Wellie mascot Kitty at the bus stop on the way home and he told me that the Wellie beat The Montreal 3-2.

Stadium A were home to the Romans A, and a very pleasant evening was had by all. But that back room at the Stadium was definitely feeling damp and Autumnal. If you are a visiting player bring your thermals.
Anyway enough of the weather
The game went something like this.
Paul Pitfield an ex Stadium a player used all the skills we had passed on to him to beat Alan Messer in the first game. Paul only finished with 4K but did drop a further 3 and occupied the crease for 14 of the 16 minutes. Well done Paul 0-1. I've also bee told to record that Alan scored absolutely b****r all and hid his embarrassment by knocking over the BP
Jim Parsons took on Alan Mepham in the second and scrambled across the line to maintain his personal 100% record. Alan also used the BP to disguise his score. 1-1.
Brian Muggeridge played Terry Stapleton in the third. Terry started off like a train and played an attacking game. The Stadium back room table will only tolerate such fervour for a short period and a series of white pegs kept Terry's score down whilst the more conservative efforts of Brian made him the eventual winner. Just as an aside Terry knocked over the BP at the end. 2-1
Micky Pope had the break in the decider against Toni Hunt. He made no major errors and won easily but with a score of just 3K. Mick potted the last few balls giving Toni no option for the BP. Match score 3-1
The final game was won by Dave Roberts playing against Colin Hunnisett. 3-2.
Apart from Paul in the first game the table was pretty well all-conquering. Be very careful all you visiting teams - and don't forget those thermals.

3 Horse Shoes 4 Windmill C 1
This match could have gone either way, Kevin and Geoff where the only 2 players to get enough on their this attempt to win. The result is as follows,
K.Tunstall 17,070 V D.Anscombe 410 * I.Lelliott 2510 V T.Jenner 4500 * M.Spier 4680 V A.Brewster 2780 * S.Mepham 7610 V B.Kerr 2880 * G.Jukes 9320 V G.Sherratt 1500 *
4 1
Good result for the 3 Horse Shoes, played 2 won 2 but as Nigel said it stillearly in the season.

Hun - interestingly I note the use of the word 'droping' in you post - let me share my thoughts
1 - you spelt 'dropping' wrong or more likely 2 - you spelt ' groping' wrong after the antics what you alluded to when you met me in the Dyke later.....
So was Tupps lucky or unlucky? Matter of opinion on who you ask I suppose LOL!

There's a third possibility :
3 - you spelt 'drooping' wrong
Knowing Tupps of old he has been known to droop or dangle over the bar or wherever............. ;)

4 - you spelt 'doping' wrong
I want a drugs test now. If Tupps is on performance enhancing drugs I may have to dock some points! :)
Thanks guys for the results - don't forget to send those cards in
