A few updates for you Tommo.... ;)
Last year....
Worthing League had 18 teams, a total of 118 players actually played in League games. Brighton League had 14 teams, total of 99 players. Lewes League had 8 teams, total of 59 players. West Sussex League had 11 teams, total of players 68 players. Mid-Sussex League had 16 teams, total of 137 players.
These figures do not include Reserves who didn't play during the course of the season. :-/

Thanks, Warrior.
Updated, and figures shown in yellow mean they are the very latest.
This means that Worthing with 18 teams has now overtaken both Redhill and Mid Sussex as the largest league in the world - unless anyone knows any different ! ;D
Further updates will be welcome from whatever quarter.............

Pursuing the theme started in 2008..........interesting to see how the bar billiards world has changed in the last 12 years. Numbers of league teams only shown at present as player numbers would involve much guesswork ! League (COUNTY) | 2008 | 2008 | 2012 | 2012 | 2016 | 2016 | 2020 | 2020 |

In 2016/17 there were 67 registered players for the Winter League and of those 64 actually played at least one league match. There were 4 other players who played in a competition but not in a league match.
In 2017/18 there were 72 registered players for the Winter League and of those 68 actually played at least one league match. There were 3 other players who played in a competition but not in a league match.
In 2018/19 there were 77 registered players for the Winter League and of those 72 actually played at least one league match. There were 4 other players who played in a competition but not in a league match.

With the recent alarming demise of the Dover & Deal League, thought now might be a good time to re-visit this thread and identify which leagues are still thriving post-Covid and which are in decline. Feel free to offer any comments or conclusions.

Tommo The Gedney Hill league is predominently a Lincs League with Some Norfolk and one Cambs team. So my Facebook page only mentions the one Cambs team in that League. Three years ago when i last visited the Black Bear there were only 5 teams left in the Summer League and I think there were seven in the Winter League.
I'm hoping to visit the Chequers on Thursday evening.
