I think the Lower Division is still going to a close run thing.
Kendal 4 - 1 Wellie
Regg3y BP Stuart 2000 Dave 2230 - Dave 1100 Pete W 1880 - Brian W BP Pete M 3970 - Brian B 2880 Andy 1530 - Roy 1350
A couple of close games (Andy & Roy in particular) and a table that, as usual, got better as the night went on made for a very enjoyable night.

Of no real significance other than to the teams playing out an end of season fixture. The Dyke beat a four player Stadium A side 3-2. The only positive about having only 4 players was the chance to see a very exciting last few overs in the cricket!

Stadium 4 - 1 Montreal
K Austen 2830 - 3660 G Mechan S Noble 2450 - 860 T Hocking V Watts 3920 - 2470 M Barsby J Smith 7740 - 1270 D Robins C Banting 2280 - 1850 B Mechan
A good start by me but then it all went downhill quick, we should really have won games 3 and 5 but it wasn't to be. Well done to the Kendal on winning the league, the stadium said they couldn't be bothered to play there fixtures they have missed as they don't want to go up. So if they win there last game next week, the Montreal will have to settle for third.

Very much a dead rubber for the 3 Horseshoes last night at home to the Albion B after monday nights defeat at the Stadium. Already 4 points behind the Tap and guaranteed runners up spot.
The Albion had other ideas though and became the only team apart from the Tap (Brighton) & Duke of Wellie (Worthing) to win there. ??? ??? Superb performances from Q & Mark Senior to beat the Prem side.
Q became only the fifth Away player this season to break off with over 6k (the others all from the Tap/Wellie) on the Horseshoes table. He then retrieved the balls after Mal slipped up and added another 4k. ::) Yours truly chased balls all around the table trying to catch Gary Frizzells lead. After about 12 mins i managed to get the balls back and finish off. :P Tim Scotney had a couple of breaks and Ian seemed to have the same trouble as me but eventually got going to win. Nick Simmons won the fourth game with 3 breaks, Hayley taking the black peg at the end with no chance. Mark came off very early against Geoff who got the break back straight away only to miss his second split. Mark retrieved the balls and sewed up the victory with a 7k break.
Well done Albion, who i think will sorely miss Qs participation next year :(

Forgot the scores B.Lawrance 11020 Wow, Bernie ! What an impressive swansong, scoring 11k in a Brighton League match, and having the World Champion say nice things about you. Five teams will be all the poorer for your absence next year.

Well done the Albion A on winning the division, and thanks to my team mates for a good first season for me playing for the Windmill. Excellent evening with match being tense, but played in a very sporting manner.
Secondly well done the Albion B, tremendous result with good scores. Surely looking through the season Nick Simmons has improved leaps and bounds. Hopefully next season you can find a replacement for Q, because look what you have achieved since having the regular fifth player.
Doug I know that feeling of having teeth amiss, although what I do have are still all my own. At least I got my wish and played early. In fact during half time so not only able to get serious dtrinking time, but hardly missed any of Chelseas` game.

Brewery Tap A 4-1 Romans A
The title already in the bag, the Tap end with a win to win the title by 6 points
Richard Wooton 15,850 - 560* Dave Nicholls Marc Chipman 860 - 9,480* Dave Roberts Nigel Senior 11,330 - 1,160* Toni Hunt Chris Reeves 7,140 - 5,110 Paul Pifeild Gareth Lloyd bye
Game 1 - Richard Wooton beat Dave Nicholls after a big break on his second go at the break, getting over 15k in what proved to be the highest score of the night. 1-0
Game 2 - Dave Roberts comfortably beat Marc Chipman with his highest score since I have kept records, narrowly missing out on 10k getting 9,400. 1-1
Game 3 - I beat Toni Hunt, a 6k break int he last 5 minutes boosting my score up to 11k. 2-1
Game 4 - Chris left it late as Paul built up a 5k lead, there was only around 5 mins left but Chris ended 2k in front in a good last game 3-1
Game 5 - No Terry Stapleton so the Tap win 4-1.

The stadium said they couldn't be bothered to play there fixtures they have missed as they don't want to go up. So if they win there last game next week, the Montreal will have to settle for third. I will speak to Carol to see if this is the case. It is disappointing that they have left 3 games unplayed and cannot not be bothered to play them because they might win the league! Although in this case the Tap, Montreal and Kendal have all gained one win so it has not affected their positions too much, it could have been different - what if their 3 games were all against the Kendal or the Montreal which would have handed them the league? Even if they give away both games against the Tap and the Montreal they could still play the Kendal and if they beat them along with their last game they would be on 12 wins which would be unbeatable. I doubt the Kendal would want to win this way - and having spoke to Peter Witcomb on Monday night I know they don't want to. It is unfair on other Division 2 teams if a team stays down almost on purpose to avoid promotion.
