Sportsman 3 Black Horse 2
Ros Appleby 1810 - 3230 Jan Bithell Jan opened up with 740, Ros hit back with 820 only for Jan to go back into the lead. It was pretty close for a while before Jan hit a couple of 1k breaks near the end to take a deserved victory. 0-1 :(
Tony Jenner 4760 - 3050 Dave Todd TJ off to a solid 2k start, Dave hitting back with 1.8k on his second visit to the table. TJ got the break back again to build up enough of a lead with Dave unable to close the gap. 1-1 ;D
BB Warrior 4920 - 1480 Richard Todd Richard's opening break shot saw the white ball spin round the back of the 50 hole and drop into the 200 hole - via the Black Peg and giving me the break! I managed a scratchy 3k opener, but never really got going after that while Richard had no luck at all. 2-1 ;D ::)
DA-DM 2850 - 1920 Ric Bithell Colleen got a nice 1.5k opening break and with Ric pegging his reply she extended her lead with another break of about 800. Although Ric got the break back a couple of times later in the game, he couldn't do enough to catch her. Well played Colleen! :-* 3-1 ;D ;D ;D
Henry "H" Brooks 1760 - 4640 Dave Knight A very solid game from Dave who got his score from 3 or 4 breaks with H unable to get going at all. :o 3-2 :(
A good evening, some hard fought matches and loads of lovely sarnies, chips & onion rings.....! ;D 8-)

If you'll excuse a couple of comments from an outsider to Lewes...
1. Glad that your back seems to be better. ;) 2. Well done AGAIN to Colleen: Ric is quite an impressive scalp. 8-)

Well done AGAIN to Colleen: Ric is quite an impressive scalp. 8-) Thanks Tommo, glad to say that my back is much improved, even if I did have to spend some of the evening closely studying the Sportsman carpet...... will have to tell them it needs a hoover! ;) Colleen played well even though she lost some scores when she was well placed and although Ric had a couple of chances, he wasn't able to keep the breaks going and catch her up. A couple of other results that I have heard of..... CKRBL 5 Only Way Is Up 0 Brewers Droops 5 Plough 0

Rumour has it that a certain pony tail is in someone else's trophy cabinet, as a penance for whacking 7000+ past that certain someone else - allegedly ;D ;D

Fortress Brewers Roll On Brewers Droops 5 Plough 0
Andy Farmer Wright 3160 Darren Nenham 3110 A cracking opening match to get us under way, big Andy behind all the way but nipped in for the steal on the last ball. :o ;D :(
Adam Bateup 9280 Howard Gould 200 An in form and on fire ex ponytailed guy, just keeps on going, break of 5k and 2k put paid to any serious challenge from league newbbie Howard. :o :o ;D :(
R Jeffrey 3500 Chase Newman 2300 Me up to the plate this time, and with Chase not scoring heavy of his opening I i nipped to wi a quick couple o thousand and just kept my nose in front to take the win. ::) :P ;)
Peter Hall 3580 Sean Turner B/P A top match from Papa Hall, strong and steady, never looked like losing and was well clear when Sean black pegged at the last. :o :( ;D
Kevin Hall 8890 Jim McClean 1410 Jim opened well enough to try and stop the brush, but pegged his break letting in the machine that is Mr Reaper, breaks of 1 and 2k from kev, and then an excellent 5k to finish the match. ;D ;D :( :o ;D
Good company, ;D great night, ;D nice spread on the food front as per the usual from Mike and Wenders. :-* :-* Games were all good ones and no one jumping ::) around this week. Plough boys struggled with the speed of the top, but table played really well again this week. 8-) 8-)
Highlight was getting my backside pinched by a strange woman in the smokin area, ::) :P :P low point was Kev telling me he played crap despite the 8k+ scoreline and a 5k break to boot. W*****R!!!!! :P ;D :P or words to that effect. :-X :-X :-X

Sorry to hear you still haven't had a game yet Nigel........ ::)
..... but maybe it will work in your favour in the long term as your team have certainly had some tough fixtures (Droops, Sportsman, CKRBL & Bridge next week) to start the season off. :'(
At the Sportsman in the Mid-Sussex League, we also have a regular "surplus" of players for every match meaning that 1 or 2 people don't get a game every week...... our captain there has solved this by dropping the player with the lowest losing score from the week before, which means that all the players regularly get a game...... and makes everybody try that little bit harder to score more points than the previous player! 8-)
Possibly this is something that your team could try....... ???
